Would not be a positive for us.
Kentucky too, I guess. I suppose this might make a series with Miami more likely, though likely not to the same extent of the Clemson 12 year runAt least Texas and Bama don't have out of conference rivals. The Florida series and any potential one versus Georgia or South Carolina (theoretical) would be impossible now, functionally.
The long-term Clemson deal was always a hedge against this stuff. We don’t also need a long-term series with Miami too, at that point we might as well just join the ACC in full.Kentucky too, I guess. Man I do not understand this logic at all. I personally think it's crazy that Miami has been able to duck ND since the start of the ACC contract. Plenty of ND fans still hate the U and would like to play them more often. We're not talking about adding on either of the Techs or Wake, this is frigging Miami! I'd relish the opportunity to see Marcus & co drag their low down raggedy behinds up and down the field, while also getting a bump in SOS (to the CFP).The long-term Clemson deal was always a hedge against this stuff. We should play Miami as often, ideally a little more often, as we play every other ACC team within our existing ACC deal. We know exactly why, Miami is soft.We should play Miami as often, ideally a little more often, as we play every other ACC team within our existing ACC deal. I don’t understand either how they’ve managed to duck us so often.
I just don’t want to get locked into playing Clemson and Miami (and Stanford?) every year bc we can’t schedule SEC or B1G teams anymore. At that point we’re basically just an ACC team.
USC is going to drop the ND rivalry due to the Big Ten schedule, and then Irish fans will call them pussies and deflect that the costs for independence are starting to add up.As long as we can still get the guaranteed ACC games and they don't require conference membership for the playoff then there's no reason to make a panic move.
5 + Clemson, Stanford, Navy, Southern Cal & rotating MAC team annually = 10.
We shouldn't struggle to find 3 more very good games from Big 10, Big 12 and SEC.
I don't think they will ever exclude ND from the playoffs so the only real question is if the ACC ever tries to force our hand by ending the agreement or if the ACC dies.

They will be pussies if they stop playing it each year.USC is going to drop the ND rivalry due to the Big Ten schedule, and then Irish fans will call them pussies and deflect that the costs for independence are starting to add up.
Do nothing.
Win.
Many such cases...
Especially if other conferences get pushed in the direction of the ACC where revenue is split on viewership… a mid season game against ND might double the viewership of the lower tier P4 teams, so I think we’ll still get those type of games scheduledI don’t see how this affects us in the least. ND will the one of the first out of conference calls on many teams call lists.

I think this saves the USC rivalry now.USC is going to drop the ND rivalry due to the Big Ten schedule, and then Irish fans will call them pussies and deflect that the costs for independence are starting to add up.

What everyone is actually angling for -- networks, conferences, playoff -- is making it so the Curt Cignettis of the world are punished for scheduling how he is OOC. Nobody wants to watch shit games, everyone would prefer that the Power 4 play 11ish games each year against power conference opponents. It's funny how many people are misunderstanding what the push towards "more AQs" is actually about... stakeholders WANT the marquee OOC games... they just don't want to be penalized if they lose one of them.
As a Miami fan I would love an annual matchup with Notre Dame. Would be good for both of our SOSs now too. SEC moving to 9 conference games + 10 P4 / ND is going to give them the SOS argument in CFP discussionsMan I do not understand this logic at all. It’s fun if your school is one of the 20. 😉☘️The counter would be the “Cinderella” story that was IU is good and part of college sports. Villains like Cignetti has become also good. So while fuck Cignetti, the same 20 schools always going to the playoffs isn’t as fun as it may sound, even if they are the most deserving.
