I keep looking at all of this and am trying to see what the end game is for ND. I am really leaning toward this now more than ever.

And FFS, because this comes up constantly regarding said topic, Fritz Crisler hasn't coached since 1947 and he's been dead since 1982. I seriously don't give a shit about what he did to ND before my parents were even born. Getting to kick Michigan's ass every year would be worth it.
If it were not for the grant of rights weirdness then ND would already have made the move last year. Everything I've heard from "people who would know" is that ND and the B1G have an understanding where it's basically "as soon as the ACC house of cards falls we'll jump ship so keep a seat warm for us." Allegedly they've even talked about options for folding the NBC deal into the broadcast situation.

Someone needs to take a big fan to the ACC house of cards then.

Weakest how? They're getting the Denver and Phoenix markets with these additions. It obviously isn't Texas and OU, but they're preserving their survival by adding two schools from fairly decent markets in terms of population and proximity.

The PAC 12 is totally screwed unless they pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Everyone I know from Denver isn’t from Denver and really don’t care or are very passive about Denver sports outside of the Broncos.

Interesting.

SEC, B1G and B12 all seem more stable than the ACC for now.

In full capacity or similar to our arrangement with the ACC?

People keep saying how awful the ACC agreement is but it seems to be damn good for 2/3 of the conference.
The broadcast agreement is bad because it stretches into 2036 and those rights have become more valuable since they signed. Their revenues look fine right now in relation to the rest of the P5 but that's about to change in the next couple of years.

Full membership or a similar deal to what we have going on with the ACC?

Where exactly else do BC, Syracuse, Wake, Pitt, etc. have to go?

What sucks about all this is when the ACC and Pac-12 collapse and we’re left with two or three super-conferences, some solid historic currently-P5-level programs - especially in both coasts - are going to be SOL.

Honestly, the AAC would be about it. Maybe the B1G absorbs BC and Wake, but that's probably a stretch that I don't even believe would be plausible. Just spitballing.

Relatively speaking, it is correct that when Iowa State is cashing in better than Clemson and FSU, something ain't right.

Also, I'm not really sure how desirable the ACC teams really are to the B1G or the SEC. UNC would be highly coveted but I'm not sure other programs are truly value-added.

Clemson is a brand name now but wouldn't the SEC be just as happy, or happier, to watch them wither and die in the ACC rather than have to cut them in? Do they have something built that survives after Dabo leaves? What does Florida State actually bring to the table? Does Duke's brand really command much revenue as a basketball-first school? CFB fans seem to think that Miami still carries weight but do they? I don't think they bring much revenue to the table judging by their attendance.

In the end, I'm not sure there is much appetite break up the ACC.

I feel better knowing that this could potentially be the case. I am really hoping this is the truth should this scenario play out.

I could see Utah (especially with BYU's addition to the Big 12) and the two Arizona schools heading to the Big 12.

Also, some guy claiming to be "in the know" is saying UVA, Virginia Tech, UNC, and NC State to the SEC. I don't see it. At least not all 4 - especially UVA.

ND needs to shoot them the bird. I wouldn't want to be associated with them. That's a conference for sexual predators (see Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern) and holier-than-thou, volte face elitists that ultimately fold like a cheap suit (see their stance on football + Covid-19).

ND needs to join the SEC. Come on, jump on in, the water's fine. ☘️

Rumors that the Pac 12 media deal presented today will be about $20 mill/school and mostly streaming.

For perspective, ND makes more than that right now with the NBC and ACC deals, with 1 streaming game per year.

Yeesh. If that's the deal, the Pac-12 is over.

Big 12 will have their pick of schools if those media deal reports are true.

We think the Big 12 will be getting more than 20m per school with their current roster? They will be a basketball conference
