Stanford Post Game Thread

Lord what a disaster of the game, after that shitty performance. Here are my thoughts.
1. I hope we don't lose any recruits after that shit show, ever since the second half of the wake forest game this has been a totally different team.
2. Derrick Allen and the Safety from Navy will be our starting safeties next year.
3. Our play calling sucks at times, but half the time it's Wimbush not making the right read. He needs to learn how to make the right read, become more confident, and work on his feet or else next year is going to be a disaster.
4. In spring tell all the QB's that it's anyones job to win. WImbush, Book, Davis, Phil and let them battle like hell to win the job..
5. We need to find a better DB coach the way they play is truly pathetic. When you have teams that get kids far worse than us who have better DB play its gotta be the coaching.

You don’t go 8-1 including some beatdowns of ranked teams and expect going 2-2 vs four inferior teams to be acceptable.

Don’t assume Gilman fro Navy will start. Word out of camp is he didn’t look that great in Elko’s system and wouldnt have started this season if NCAA waiver had been approved. That said...how can he not be better than what we have now?

Is Jurkovec an early enrollee? I didn’t think he was...which leaves him out of the QB conversation for next season IMO. After all, Wimbush had great HS numbers, too with a 70%+ completion rate.

We knew the staff was worried about secondary play. Tonight it got exposed. Surprised it took this long. Will likely be a weakness going forward until they can hold onto recruits.

Lets see critical penalties,QB cant pass effectively which resulted in 2 key interceptions and a fumble that set up 14 points. OL struggles. Teams have figured out how to play ND plain and simple.I have supported BK but I sense that the AD may make a move at the end of the season.

You seriously think Swarbrick makes a move at the end of the season? I agree Kelly needed to go after last season but the timing for canning him this season is not good. Look at all the P5 schools struggling to find a HC now. Kelly will get one more year. I hope they can win the bowl & get that elusive 10th win. He has proven he can’t produce back-to-back 10-win seasons & expectations will be much higher next season.

Saban played Hurts all game against Auburn and suffered the loss. He went with Hurts against Watson in the NC last year and lost.

You can’t win in college for long if you can’t pass. Wimbush can’t pass. Need to focus on Book’s development for next year.

Absolutely agree! So many things improved 2016 to 2017. Unfortunately there is a ceiling on everything when you cannot pass on offense. You just can't be anything more than what ND was able to accomplish this season without that dimension in an offense.

I know Jurkovich is signed on....I say we need to look at another Freshman and maybe a grad transfer QB to be on this team next year.

Look at the openings. What looks more enticing? Nebraska Tennessee Florida or ND? ND and it's not even close IMO.

Also Swarbrick isn't making the move and then hunting for a replacement. He would have to have someone locked in before they pulled that trigger.

Also I'm tired of our coaches showing favoritism and loyalty to certain players. Look what Stanford did last night they mixed it up with 3 backs all night. I wanna see more of Stepherson design more plays for him rushing and passing it seems like everytime he touches the ball soemthing positive happens. Get more guys involved in the offense we seem to rely heavily on so few little guys, when you looo at USC box score you got almost 8-10 guys getting catches. Part of wimbushes problem is he focuses way to much on option one for a play he doesn't even look st option b or c and 75% of the time those options are open he just wastes to much time for option 1 to be open by the that time he is scrabbling around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Disappointing for sure - I have a hard time seeing much past turnover margin and Wimbush (66% samesies) as the reason for our implosion last night. Wimbush has sucked for a month, Book deserved a shot to stay in when BW got banged up. Let the kid have that drive and see what happens.

Having a hard time hanging this on Kelly. 0-3 turnover margin (plus penalties screwing Finke’s return field position) are not on him and not going to beat Top 25 teams doing that. Bashing Stanford as shite, is shite. Probable conference champ there.

WTF with the field, every freaking time there it looks like livestock lives on the Farm. Makes me appreciate our turf.

What sucks is we all know that BW is going to be the guy at the beginning of next year even though the long term right move would be to go to PJ.
