I thought Ben would've put on a little more weight/muscle during his red shirt year. He seems like the same size to me...could just be the picture though.

"I don't have time for that s***." hahahaha

"Don't worry about the throw. I can't throw for s***. You know that." lmao

I cracked a huge smile when he said the first one, but when he said the second one, I almost fell out of my chair... :p

The size of Hercules compared to Eifert is crazy! The kid is a monster. He will demolish some linebackers...and imagine him getting his hands on a safety! Whew!

Is it me or does Tommy look much bigger?

Gotta love Alford: "Hey! Get the ball right. You know what I'm sayin'? I don't have time for that sh*t.."

Nothing like spring practice after the drought.

you'd forget just how bigger Cam roberson is to any other RB on the roster. if the guy fills out hes gonna be a tank!

To Summarize (and added to first post):

Injury Report:
Amir Carlisle- Out for Spring (broken ankle), should be ready in June
Tony Springmann- Limited participation
Cam Roberson- Limited participation
Chase Hounshell- Not yet cleared
Cave

KLM, Hardy, Rabasa, Nichols all are cleared to practice

Position Changes:
Cam McDaniel to CB
Mathias Farley to S
Troy Niklas to TE

5th Years:
KLM
Cave
Slaughter
Goodman
McCarthy
Golic Jr.

Other Notes:
Davaris tested "off the charts." NFL combine level numbers.

Lo and Bennet are the starting CBs as of now.

Shembo will be looked at for both OLB positions

Riddick, Goodman, Prosise, and Neal to get looks at PR

GAIII will play RB and slot, looking for more ways to get him the ball

Very comfortable with Zeke, Collinsworth, and Slaughter at S.

No plans currently to move Neal to CB.

OL should be a good battle with Prestwood and N. Martin challenging for PT.

Cave limited for spring, okay but do not want to stress foot.

Daniels did not test off the charts but had reasonable numbers. For example he didn't surpass Floyd. But he did well.

Atkinson up 10 lb to 210
Councell up 10 lb to 240
Hardy up 8lb to 185
KLM up 6 to 306
Farley up 6 to 200
Carlisle up 5 to 185
Daniels up 5 to 190
Lynch up 5 to 270
Stockton DOWN 17 to 285
No numbers on Golson.

All of these sound good. Highlighed ones of course legitamize the players at that position on the field. But the biggest one is Stocton down 17, may be following in Nix's footsteps. We may have a sleeper on our hands. That would be the player that could make our front awesome to three deep!

To clarify my earlier post [and to thank Rhode for clearly seeing and understanding it] I was talking about the first few days of Spring competition, NOT the first few real games next year. No coach with any winning sense [and Kelly is off the charts on that] makes gratuitous nods to veterans in real games just because they've paid dues, if they cannot outplay younger players.

As an aside, I'm happy for the young persons on the site for their large number of posts [ sorry... wrong font? ].

Add-on: I listened to most of the presscon and Coach seems to me to be:

1). Ready to split Eifert out a lot;
2). Ready to use a lot of hybrid speed OLB/S and happy about it; [me, too and thank God];
3). Is genuinely worried about CB despite keeping a good face forward. McDaniel to corner is desperation to have enough bodies. Cam played Safety on defense in HS I believe;
4). Is changing the offense to reflect things like the TE talent overload and the Slot Magicians. We will go 4-wide+ TE a lot with no backs. These O-changes are partly due to the playmakers at those TE & Slot/RB positions, but partly to play to the "other" QBs strengths. He is going to DEMAND play-extension mobility and NO Turnovers. If Golson or Hendrix cannot seize this opportunity then they haven't "got it" and it's Kiel's for the future.

This is huge, and no one sees it. Imagine Eifert out, two tight ends with potential, and Toma, Neal, Riddick, etc. sneaking out of the backfield? We could have an O that kills db's.

I had that same feeling my friend, but it does not really matter because if Rees starts we go 8-5 and if a newcomer starts we most likely go 7-6 MAYBE 8-5. So really it does not matter who starts because with that schedule and question marks at QB and in the defensive backfield and switching running backs to play in the defensive backfield you are asking for trouble.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. This is gonna be a snapshot of last year......BUT our defense may get us an extra win.

We bringing the sticks and burlap sacks over to this thread too?
