The recruiting classes the last couple of years of the Kelly era are pretty terrible. Occasionally we would get a Hamilton or a Mayer, but a lot of the guys were just not good.Genuinely astounding how bad the junior and senior defensive classes turned out to be.
This isn't completely accurate. There's a 1-year rule that basically allows a new coach to evaluate his roster and then adjust personnel accordingly, but still allow the university to honor the scholarship as an academic award not countable against the 85. The way the rule is written, Freeman is still within the one-year window. But there's no way the athletic department would cut Powlus III like that when his dad is both an alum and a current employee, so he gets to save face with a medical retirement.its the only way for him to stay on scholarship at the university tbf

So 3 scholarship QB's on the roster and a couple red hats correct?
Hartman, Buchner, Angeli and Mincey plus yeah a redhat wearing 15/16 i thinkSo 3 scholarship QB's on the roster and a couple red hats correct?
I couldn't be less concerned about getting to that number. We're more likely to be under 85 than over IMO.87 guys on scholarship at this moment, Freeman wants to add a S transfer after spring practice, so 3 dudes still to go by 26AUG.

*** We never saw the offensive line as a whole, but they did some half line drills. The first group to line up was - left to right - Joe Alt, Andrew Kristofic, Zeke Correll, Rocco Spindler and Blake Fisher. Don't read too much into that, but it was worth noting.

Looks like Driskell is back allowed inside the facility lol
We really need koon back for spring ballI thought we already had a thread, but I can’t find it anywhere…
Spring ball starts today!
Warm up the keyboards and scouting vocabulary, because it’s time to analyze 15-second video clips of players doing warmups. After all, the freshmen aren’t going to declare themselves future All Americans after one practice… we have to do it for them. #GoIrish

Was he seriously barred from being there?

Just listened to the defensive podcast. Start was cringeeee hahaI for some reason decided to start listening to Irish Breakdown at work and he had mentioned several times how he’s gonna be at practice this year while he was “unable” to attend last year lol.

I'm sure Peyton and his pops are fine with the checks he's getting. Not to rehash old comments, but truly remarkable how bad of a decision Peyton Bowen ended up making. Would have at worst contributed big minutes right away.
yes for being unvaccinated. Was he seriously barred from being there?
Why can’t we? Safety seems the only concerning positionAfter watching Hartman throw a dime on a deep ball and CT moving to slot... we're winning the freaking championship.
Koolaid is mixed. Bottle of vodka is close by in case I need to add it in.After watching Hartman throw a dime on a deep ball and CT moving to slot... we're winning the freaking championship.
Off-topic but anybody got a link to buy that hoodie Freeman was wearing today? I want one.
When did you have an epiphany and change from being a top 25 to top 10?I think that is where I am at. One less loss than last year. No stupid losses - hopefully. That should be a NY6 bowl...or close to it. Probably around a Top 10 finish. Thats the floor. I think to expect higher is ridiculous based on an inexperienced OC and certain holes in the defense.
