Are you talking about Niles Scream Park?
sure am, awesome hidden gem
How much nutritional value is there in the typical food voucher? I know that a reasonable amount of "roughage" is recommended, but paper as a substitute for a hardy Irish Stew ... ???
my wife bought us tickets for the NC State game for our 5th year anniversary...i have never been to south bend and will be in town thur/fri/sat and leaving sunday..parking i figured for gameday i will have to uber from hotel if i don't have parking pass? other suggestions? will i be able to find parking on friday anywhere to do the typical campus tours? we are visiting the campus thursday and want to go to brian kelly radio show(anyone ever go?), fri- gug, stadium tour, pep rally- sat players walk, drinking and game.....any suggestions about what else....best place for beers on game day if you aren't at a tailgate?
thanks in advance!
Here are some restaurant options that I highly suggest:
Taphouse on The Edge (used to be called Between the Buns) has the best burgers in town. It's right off campus, on 23.
Nick's Patio is your best friend, at 2AM. Fantastic, divey, 24-hour greasy spoon that looks like it's stuck in the past.
Rocco's has the best pizza. I will fight anyone who argues otherwise.
LaSalle Grill is still the best restaurant in town, but I mourn the death of Club LaSalle (upstairs used to be a cigar/martini bar, now it's a gastropub.)
That whole Eddy Street development, was new to me, but it's a nice hangout area. O'Rourke's was a chill place, during the Summer. I imagine it will be crazy on gameday.
Don't even sweat the Friday parking. There is a ton of parking on campus.
Not even the best pizza on that block...my bro lives there and makes a sweet Ginos frozen. Blows Roccos out of the water
Taphouse has NOTHING on The View burgers. Try the Becky.
Oh man. The View... now that’s a freaking dive. Great burgers though. Not exactly a stop for a visitor.
any issue w/ bringing a flask into game?
Yes, do not get caught with only one because you'll be thrown out for not giving the usher one.

They are serious about enforcing the no alcohol policy.

yeah, i don't want to have any bad experiences for my 1st time there...no flask for me
Buy a couple shooters at Belmont before the game and put them in your back pocket. I’ve done it for years without ever a single incident. Including this past weekend.

Hell man.. The View is great.....short staffed, greasy bar food and strong cheap drinks. My favorite dive in town. Becoming somewhat of a hipster joint though with the building going on around there...and a way better option than the bars around campus.
Also a huge fan of Jay's Lounge in Niles...but it's not the dive it used to be.
OTiI's fried chicken makes me happy as well.

Just touchdown at orourkes
This is all accurate. O'Rourkes (where the BK radio show is) is good for beers too. On Thursday and Friday you can park in the garage in Eddy St commons for pretty cheap (first hour is free) as well, but you can find road parking for free.
Legends is a fun place to go to as well, which is right across from Eddy St Commons towards campus.
I'll send you a pm later with some other stuff. Also, give me a shout when you're in town. I work over there and maybe I can sneak away to buy you a beer.
