Damn Phork, I have never been one of your naysayser's, but I have to say that you are disapointing me here.

Now, I from time to time, will tell someone on this board where to shove it. Hell, I even get into arguments with mods.

but here's the thing.... They would have to permanently ban me from here to make me stop posting. I guess I would rather just tell someone to F*** off and get reprimanded than take my ball and go home. I am pretty sure that every person on here that I have ever gotten into it with is good with me now, and vice versa (if not, there's always time).

I see this board as my internet family. You are all my brothers and sisters (kissmeimirish) and I love all of you. But sometimes, like all families, I want bash your brains in. But right as I corner you in the kitchen brandishing a fork a weapon, I remember that you are still my peeps. I remember that it's just the internet.

So go home, hug your wife. Go mow your lawn, go for a run or compliment a complete stranger. Do something to find yourself.

Irish Envy remains one of the best places to chat about Notre Dame football on the internet. It's futile to leave. So my advice - stick around, keep being yourself, and don't get too emotionally invested. The rest of the ongoing conversation outside of football is an in-crowd kinda thing that is fairly easy to ignore.

I used to frequent uhnd's board, but many (not all) were more concerned with putting the other poster down. At least here, there is a much clearer degree of respectability and benefit of the doubt. I respect that the mods try to hold the conversation to a standard that isn't vicious and demeaning.

I realize we all seek different things from Irish Envy. I usually just coast along to get the info I value, pay my respects when I can, and express my appreciation for ND. The community is actually pretty strong here for a buncha nerds.

Most importantly, it's gonna be a season to remember.... Bail when we make a title run in 2013. Your services won't be needed then.

Shouldn't post anything but: this is just a generic comment.

1). People come to IE for information or to be entertained. Many times those are the same thing;

2). For a poster to be a positive contributor to the site, and his presence valued, his posts should contain either "substance" or "creativity" at least the majority of the time. Either type of contribution requires a little thought or work;

3). JPham has decided to make IE a place which is no longer completely "Wild West Gunslinging" and therefore demands at least a modicum of personal respect between posters. LA has been the most public of his posse on this and in my mind 99% on track while doing so;

4). Many of us, I will guess, would not be here if JPham did not insist that the site run in this classier way. We certainly wouldn't come here if the core posters did not do their homework and deliver intriguing information and/or genuinely clever funny stuff;

5). If any person actually cares about the quality of IE, or even about whether they are honestly appreciated on IE, they probably should take into account what IE is, and do a little something to contribute to it in those ways. Mere knee-jerk negativity without substantive content, for instance, does not really contribute anything to IE. This board is not in need of remedial therapy for excess pollyannaism, (when one considers the major members who post substantially about recruiting or Notre Dame football). All of the substantive posters, in my experience, are quite moderate as to their Kool-Aid drinking and reasoning on upcoming seasons.

Apologies for any hurt feelings this might produce. The post is honest at least, and I do feel a little loyalty to JPham and the Team for what they are trying to create here.

Phork if you're looking for a place where your outlook would be more "in line" with the community, I would recommend UHND. "Negativity" or "realism" (whatever you want to call it) is much more widespread there, but not in a ridiculous way like ND Nation.

I have noticed a disturbing trend on IE of the mass of people having the same opinions, then gravitating towards each other and talking smack about those that dont agree. Its starting to become 'if you dont agree with the masses, then your wrong' attitude around here. By you leaving it will only strengthen this trend. I enjoy reading your posts because I know its your opinion, not because you are buddies with another poster you are agreeing with. It has nothing to do with that. He alluded to that in his post but he knows that it has zero to do with negativity. Truth is, he wants to be able to mock other posters and call them idiots and all that, and it just won't fly. Like I said, he was given multiple warnings and he chose to ignore them, and then complained when he got short vacations. It has nothing to do with that. He alluded to that in his post but he knows that it has zero to do with negativity. Truth is, he wants to be able to mock other posters and call them idiots and all that, and it just won't fly. I'm not sure you know exactly what the truth is. I don't mock other posters, I don't pile on when other posters do it. You insist the TP thing was a malicious attempt to hurt his feelings. I admit it got out of hand, on both sides, but I genuinely didn't mean harm. At the time that happened there was several BS posters claiming to know stuff, who all turned out to be false prophets. So to TP, I apologize. I seriously meant it as good natured fun. But I find it funny that no one else seemed to get a stern lecture in regard to using those 2 words. As far as the Neal thing is concerned, it was total BS. I picked a side and stuck with it, showing that regardless of information anyone has, even a broken clock is right 2 times a day. Same goes with Anzalone. I didn't humblebrag or any other such nonsense. I never touted I picked anyone, everyone on here did.

NDinLA, I have no idea what happened to you. But you have changed, a lot. I am not the only one to notice it either, that includes some of our regulars who are on permanent vacations. You keep talking about my history here and I should have been banned longer. I PMd you and asked you and you didn't reply. I have no idea what you are talking about. As for the previous banning, singular, that was HCTI, for inappropriate language. Ask him about it, he'll tell you in retrospect how he felt about it.
As for the negativity, it is a big thing. This is a message board yes. I consider some of you some pretty cool people who I would definitely have a beer with. I care what you think of me and I defend this board where ever someone speaks ill of it. I asked for several things that I thought might improve the place, IE chat etc. I am seriously not a bad dood.
As a mod you really need to work on your skills. Pushing for fights so you know the result is that someone is going to get a vacation is bullshit. Why is it that my only 2 dealings with mods were with HCTI & you? I have never got a PM from any other mod on this board, yet... I have history here.
