I made a daedric sword with base 97 damage plus 56 pts of fire damage AND a chance to paralyze for 5 seconds. On top of that I have +125% damage to one-handed attacks from my enchanted armor and jewelry. Yeah. I'm badass I know.

Amazing game. Did you guys get the DLCs? They're also fantastic. One of them is legitimately outstanding, the one were you get to go to the island and do more dragonborn stuff.

I only did the house building one... The area where Skyrim seriously lacked in comparison to Oblivion was houses... That DLC solved that.

I'm on the first mission and my task is to go talk to 'Gerdur' in Riverwood. I've been running around Riverwood for 25 minutes and there's no Gerdur.

I didn't intend to, lol. Game looks awesome so far, but I'm calling it a night. It's hard to know what/where you're supposed to do so far. Like, my objective will be to go 'join the rebellion', but either I missed when they said where to go to do that, or I'm missing something.

Anyways, looks great and I will probably play a lot.

When in doubt, just follow the blips on your compass... Or key on a quest in the menu... It'll help with where to go... Btw, killing stormcloaks is da shit....

Skyrim was okay, but I think Oblivion was still better. After you kill your first couple dragons, the rest are kinda...meh. Story was okay, final battle felt kind of like a let down. I've only played a couple of the expansions, I'm probably just going to get the GOTY for cheap sometime soon so I'll have them all.

If you want a challenge, play a Mage only build on Hard mode. No weapons, staves only, no armor, only robes. It's rough, but you're pretty damn unstoppable by level 10 or so.

Like ACamp said, your map is a useful tool. Also, when in doubt, use the Elder Scrolls wiki to help. The game is so vast and overwhelming that I find it much more enjoyable with a little guidance.

That's Dragonborn. I picked up the Legendary edition of Skyrim for Christmas, which includes all DLC. Crazy value at only $30.

Everquest was the first MMORPG, and that's exactly what the next Elder Scrolls is. I'd stay away, unless you're interested in tanking your GPA.

Gerdur should either be in her house or working at the lumber mill. Press start to open your quest log. Highlight the quest you're working on, and press X (on PS3, not sure what it is on Xbox) to track it on your compass. You can also push Square to see exactly where the objective is on your map.

There's a civil war going on between the Empire and the Stormcloaks. You could pick a side (as that quest is urging you to do), our you can stay neutral.

You probably got spotted while trying to pick a lock or a pocket. Make sure you're sneaking and unseen before you do that kinda stuff.

Btw, I'm pretty far into the game, just found some cave filled with bears and such, and Gerdur was dead inside, on top some rock mound like shed been sacrificed... Crazy. I know any character can absolutely die, but I've never just found them dead randomly like that....

BTW ulk, I liked Oblivion more too... The houses and decor stuff in that game was great, and the side stories seemed better, still thought Skyrim was great though.
