I love animals. I've volunteered to help sea turtles and cougars in my life.

But I could never bring myself to help the skunk bear.

Is the 3 match ban for Harbaugh going to be it in terms of punishment? If so, every school obviously needs to be doing this and any other like thing to get an advantage.

The game bans were imposed by the Big Ten, not the NCAA.

Their punishments will be far more steep, because they have more time and far more evidence to work with.

Huge difference between the two is we self-reported whereas Michigan is denying and, scapegoating, and otherwise circling the wagons. I'm not as confident now that anything will happen, let alone vacating wins and this championship, as I was when this all 1st dropped.

People way ahead of their skiis thinking the punishment will be immense and swift. It's a hope.

Hard to tell with the new NCAA president. He's been pretty quiet on this, which makes me think he's wanting to make sure he is ready to fend off any objections or lawsuits Michigan may have if he lowers the boom.

I, like any ND fan, genuinely hope this is the case. I just can't shake the decades worth of NCAA bad/wrong decisions I've witnessed in my lifetime.

The worst thing is that vacating means nothing.

They cheated, and they knew it. They spat in the face of sportsmanship and robbed others of a chance of playing fairly.

Sports in general have become a wild west that encourages a "win at all costs" and "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'" mentality by allowing con-artists to crown themselves champions. It has happened time and time again and what we have found is that clearly the end is worth the means for these sorry people.

I struggle to be a fan of sport as it continues to seem to be that the right seldom wins and only those willing to grovel in the muck thrive. Call me foolish or an idealist, but sports are supposed to bring out the best in people and to help develop the character of young people...and we have just really fucked that up.

There’s plenty of good still happening in sports but when there’s money involved it goes south. And the amount of money is directly proportional to the amount of corruption

I'm jaded and frankly I don't see ND winning a Natty anytime soon unless we lay with the dogs.

The Steelers had a doctor in the 1970's who's sole job was to inject each player with steroids. The 'Steroid Steelers'.

You don't want to know what was going on at UCLA during the Wooden years.

I actually used to feel more this way than I do now. Sure UM cheated from a coaching perspective, but the biggest impediment to ND competing was always talent and number of bodies. NIL and transfer portal have made that much less of an issue.

Five years ago, it felt like the only way ND could win one NC would be the hard way of establishing a championship level program a la Bama. You almost had to be built to win 4 championships to win 1. Having a magical shortcut season due to a sudden influx of talent like 2019 LSU felt impossible. Suddenly that's not the case. We can be just as flash in the pan (in a good way) as anyone.
