Penn State needs to overcome James Franklin and keep it close enough for the refs to do their part.

This is the equivalent of zero punishment. I hope they don't think this will suffice.

The need to follow it up with postseason ban, lost scholarships, and vacated wins (at minimum)

I’m assuming this is the starting point since it’s just the Big 10 and not the NCAA. This is the most rapid response we’ve ever seen for cheating in CFB history.

Michigan, for whatever reason, is one of the more sanctimonious, holier than thou programs in college sports. No matter what happens (or doesn't happen as the case may be), I love the egg on their face due to this scandal coupled with the Juwan Howard thrown punch against the Wisconsin. Fuck Michigan.

Correct. This is what I’ve been saying all day. It’s not a nothing burger at all. I doubt they’ve planned for this in their PSU game plans. It’s 4:00 and they have a nooner tomorrow.

He’ll probably be hanging back in the hotel room watching monitors of the game all the while communicating with the Michigan staff inside the stadium.
He'll absolutely have a line to at least some low level staffer who will convey messages.

Stupid. I bet you if UM loses this weekend the BIG brings the hammer but if they win they do nothing

Honestly shocked they had the balls to do anything.

Unfortunately, I think scUM now wins by a lot tomorrow.

Not only will they be pissed it happened, but they will be pissed it happened so late in the week.

HAHA, fuck Michigan!
But seriously, "the Commissioner is personally inserting himself into the sidelines and altering the level playing field."
Uhh...you mean just like Stallions inserted himself into the sidelines and altered the level playing field? I mean, holy fuck! Did he even read that line in his head before he typed it? :ROFLMAO:
Oh! I also like the part in the first statement where they say Michigan is fully cooperating with the investigation. Meanwhile in the ESPN article:
Harbaugh, who faces charges around failing to cooperate with NCAA investigators, could be charged as a repeat violator under head coach responsibility, a Level I charge.

Hit these assholes with the major sanctions hammer!

FWIW, John Brice wrote that FootballScoop article.

Considering how much evidence the Big10 and NCAA say they have, the punishment does not fit the crime. Though it's better than nothing.
BIG is punting to NCAA.
They want scUM to be mad at NCAA, not them.

They had to do "something" now. And this is the something. Lame. But basically scUM is out on a death sentence bond.

It's still more a statement than a consequence, but I've got to say suspending Harbaugh for tomorrow's game while he's on the damn plane to Penn State is one of the biggest fuck-you moves I've seen from the people who run college athletics in some time.

Also why is this game tomorrow at noon and not at night? Penn State sucks but the big night game white-out is one of the cooler scenes in the sport.

Bad news is that we think it should've been more severe.

The good news is that this is only a stepping stone. If they would've handed down a more severe punishment immediately, (made them vacate wins for just this year or simply not allow them to compete in the conference championship) Michigan might've got off with less punishment overall. Instead of only vacating current season, they may get multiple seasons when all is said and done.

Let them cook.

Of course if they make it to the conference championship, I'm going to be pissed.
