Doesn't really sound like the NCAA found anything implicating Harbaugh unless I'm not understanding this correctly.
Yahoo Sports

Doesn't seem to be much of anything new. The consistent theme from everything today is Michigan was notified Harbaugh is being suspended and they have 48 hours starting today to respond. Wednesday will hopefully be judgement day.

From the article:
"
While under NCAA bylaws head coaches are presumed responsible for a staff member’s actions, the Big Ten sportsmanship policy does not feature such a clause.

The policy holds “institutions,” not head coaches, as “responsible for, and therefore, may be held accountable for, the actions of its employees, coaches, student-athletes, band, spirit squads, mascot(s), general student body and any other individual or group of individuals over whom or which it maintains some level of authority.”

Can the Big Ten apply a NCAA bylaw to override its own bylaw to suspend Harbaugh? That’s the kind of question — and others that arise from two bureaucratic mazes — that will no doubt be asked of a judge."

If I'm the Big Ten and I have reason to believe that's how UM is going to respond, then I cut that off. If the conference is able to hold the institution responsible, but not the coach, then I tell them "okay have it your way" and then ban the school from conference post season play for 3 years, vacate any conference championships they have since 2021, and cut them out of revenue sharing for 3 years.

I've now punished the institution, not any of the coaches or players.

My good man. How do we get you in front of the Big10 commissioner?

Michigan is putting up a fight, I'll give them that.

Harbaugh will be suspended indefinitely, but will go to the NFL anyways. The Michigan program will vacate three years of wins from 2021 to present, they will be bowl ineligible for four years, and will vacate 40 scholarships over four years.

Take the punishment. You did wrong, your head coach wasn't in control of the program as he should have been, and now you are on a pity-party saying that the NCAA has it out for you because of some cheeseburgers. Good grief, **** right off with that crap.

I didn't think UM would stand behind Harbaugh like this. Thought they would cut ties to preserve the institution's credibility, which is what I believe ND would do if anything similar ever occurred, even if it was unfair to the coach or person involved.
Neither did I. Fairly surprised honestly. Likely just because so much is at stake with this season.

However with the mountains of evidence against them, this feels like a really stupid hill to die on.

I went to the Penn State - Ohio State game, and they are definitely overrated. After all preseason hearing how good Allar was, he was garbage, their running game was garbage and they had zero playmakers at WR. I loved it. I cannot…no, I will not ever pull for Penn State for obvious reasons.
I was also there. Actual think our offense is better PSU regardless of record/stats

I fully expected a "code of silence" to protect Jimmy and lay it all on Stallions. That appears to have happened. But the U President's stand which is basically "how dare you" if you rule against us "WE WILL SUE" is a surprise. They can't possibly believe there nothing to see here.
Everyone loves to trash the NCAA but if you read their rules there is no way they can complete an investigation before Jan 1st. So its up to the Big 10.

They are standing behind him as long as the team is undefeated and they could all benefit financially from UM potentially winning a championship.

If Michigan were to lose to OSU and not make the playoffs, I suspect Harbaugh would immediately become their sacrificial lamb.

When they say Ann Arbor is whore... it means money = love.

Latest yahoo update claims no link to Harbaugh.

It claims that no evidence has yet been presented to Michigan from the NCAA regarding Harbaugh's involvement. That is relevant to the Big 10 case, because the Big 10 bylaws lack the amended language in the NCAA bylaws that a head coach is responsible for the actions of his subordinates.

Michigan is still in long-term trouble with the NCAA. But they have legal options against the Big 10, which is restricted in certain ways the NCAA is not. My guess from reading everything that came out today: Big 10 indefinitely suspends Harbaugh, Michigan files a temporary restraining order (TRO), and Harbaugh coaches out the season while the case is litigated. The TRO won't be resolved quickly unless evidence that Harbaugh knew/ordered the spy scheme can be presented in court.

This will mean nothing for the NCAA case, but it will fill Michigan fans with hope and bluster. I don't think I have ever once rooted for Penn State in my life, but that is changing this weekend.

Reporting ESPN indicates the Big 10 alerted Michigan on possible disciplinary action related to the sign-stealing allegations against its football program.

As I reported over the weekend, sources indicated the league has been considering going beyond the maximum two-game suspension the Big 10 can impose sportsmanship for violations of its sportsmanship policy. That would require approval from the Big Ten’s Joint Group Executive Committee. Sources have indicated commissioner Tony Petitti mentioned an indefinite suspension as a possible punishment, implying support for such a measure by the JGEC is already in place.

Checking in with a source yesterday I was told there had been “no change” in the punishment posture from the league.

As previously reported, if the Big 10 follows through with the aforementioned suspension, it will absolutely trigger a legal response from Michigan. And not just from Michigan.

“My expectation will be that Michigan will sue the Big 10, and then Harbaugh will move to intervene in the case,” the source said.

“(Michigan) has assembled a legal dream. I feel like both sides… both Harbaugh and Michigan… feel like they have a really strong case against the conference.”

We could find out as soon as tomorrow whether that case will need to be brought.

As always, stay tuned.

I feel like if they lose to Penn State, a lot less people are going to care about Michigan.

I simply can't count on James Franklin being able to get that done.

PSU's offense and Allar aren't going to be able to move the ball. OSU (yuck) is the only hope for a Michigan loss.
