The shooting happened at the University Heights apartment complex late Saturday evening.
Details are limited, but we're working to gather as much information as possible.
At least 10 AUPD vehicles Disaster Relief Trailer have been brought in.
AU residents should avoid Longleaf Drive.
We can't release any information regarding victims, suspects, a motive or details about the case at this time, as they are all unconfirmed.


WSFA is a Montgomery, AL TV station. They have a crew live but official info is scarce at this point. The names came from tweets.

Ladarious Phillips and Ed Christian both recently left the football team, and I believe it's Eric Mack not Ed. Horrifying. I had a lot of hope for them as players, but now I just hope the rumors aren't true.

From what I'm hearing it's not looking good at all.

Unfortunatly, the worst. Christian and Phillips both pronounced dead. Mack in critical condition.

Turquorius Vines, 23, said he was at the pool party Saturday evening at the University Heights apartments with one of his friends. He said he and his friend were approached by two other men who started arguing with them over a woman.
Vines said he punched one of the men, while his friend hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. Either one or both of the two men then started shooting, he said. He said his friend was shot and killed, while two others also were hit by gunfire. Vines said he had never before seen the men who he had been arguing with

Anyone who reads this please remember the saying "don't bring a knife to a gunfight". Whenever you get into a bad situation it is better to just walk away then to risk starting something like this. You can't control how someone reacts to something you do but you could not give them something to react too.

Very true Jade. Our martial arts instructor when I was a kid told us before he taught us how to fight, he would teach us the oldest and safest form of self defense......running.

My feeling is some colleges take the safety of their students very seriously and others don't. This was an unbelievable recipe for disaster . . .
