McKinley did not play as a punishment

??
For what?
I thought he didn't play because he's ninth on the depth chart or something and coming off an injury and we're probably redshirting him.

Does anyone have any idea who Fromm's back up is?

To me, keeping him healthy has to be paramount for UGA. If he goes down, ND can probably put 8 men in the box for the rest of the game and pressure him and the RB's into submission

I know his backup threw 2 picks on back to back series last weekend.

Will probably be under 50,000 Irish fans at the game Saturday night.

77,622 is the new capacity.

Doesn't roll off the tongue like 80,795 or 59,075.

We reduced the capacity with the reno? What the fuck?

I heard today (I live in the area), that Georgia fans have rented out the lot at my old HS across from the old ND golf course (ND bought the property a few years ago) and are bringing 10,000 fans. And ordered 130 kegs, crazy!

I thought this was common knowledge for some time now?

There was a seat reduction due to the addition of the visitor's tunnel, the expansion of all bench seats from 16" to 18", and a few other reductions. It's not ideal, but what are you gonna do?

I'll be happy if that's all they got. Looking at some of the UGA boards, they are expecting 30,000 to be in the area and guessing 20,000 in the stadium.

Meanwhile, across the street, 130 ND fans are bringing 10,000 kegs for themselves. BYOK folks.

That sounds about right. I think 20,000 was about how many Texas fans were in the stadium for that matchup. I'm expecting a massive UGA turnout. I'm just hoping it's not Sea of Red levels. That was embarrassing.

Rewatched the Temple game, if I am Georgia and I think my front 7 holds up, I am going to try and spy Brandon, maybe with a safety, because his first thought when things break down is to take off. I'm thinking a check down receiver or back like a Tony Jones Jr. could have a big game if we are having trouble running the ball and are forced to throw it a bit.

Going through reads takes a little time but knowing where your safety valve is could be big!

If we have that game plan, hopefully the RB is told to chip and release because our right side may need some help.

Brice Ramsey, who was 0-2 with 2 picks in mop up time during the last game.

Hoe nice would it be to knock Fromm out of the game. Nothing serious, just enough that he couldn't return during the game.

I thought good ol' country boys knew how to drink? Just a bunch of lightweights.

There aren't as many Catholics down in Georgia (though the number is growing); the Baptists aren't allowed to have fun like us

Worried about our safety play and depth at DT for this game. Nice thing about next year's team is we will return everyone on defense minus Nyles Morgan and martini

I thought for last couple years that 2018 would be our realistic shot at the playoff.. The Team will be loaded

I hate the schedule though. Starting with Michigan and a junior Rashan Gary. Playing at Va Tech. Hosting FSU in November, plus Stanford and USC are still on the schedule. That's 5 teams that should be in the top 25 easily.

Which means no way we get left off if we go 11-1..

schedule looks brutal though: michigan, stanford, VT, FSU, USC

If you want to be a program that is in the playoff hunt.. you have to beat good teams at home, FSU, Stanford, and MI included... IF we reach potential we shouldn't have a problem with Tech and really its USC on the road which could be heartbreaking, but if that's our only loss.. 11-1 with that schedule and we are in

But we lose two potential first round linemen. Their importance can't be overstated. I like what we have in the pipeline but we need to maximize what we have now.

There are no guarantees with 11-1, I've stressed this numerous times. We were 10-1 before the Stanford game in 2015, having been leapfrogged by a one loss Oklahoma the week before. Maybe we retake the spot if we beat Stanford, but Oklahoma also played a highly ranked Big 12 team that same week so it's unlikely. That scenario gets worse from this year going forward, because now in that 2015 scenario Oklahoma would be playing in a Big 12 championship game that would be highly considered by the committee. It's extremely unlikely ND gets in on an 11-1 schedule vs. a 12-1 P5 conference champion. The backlash would be awful. 12-0 is about the only guarantee, although I could see an Alabama and an tOSU running the table some years and mucking that up too (Unlikely all 3 teams do it though, it's only happened a few times in recent history).

Except in your scenario, we lose in the last week of the season to a team that could very well be in the conversation for the playoff themselves. There's truth to the statement that in college football it's better to lose a game early in the season than late, especially with human voters for the playoffs. We'd be much better off losing to Michigan, Stanford, or Va Tech than USC.

Agreed, that's 3 teams on the schedule that are more talented than we are. Adding Michigan on to a schedule that included FSU, USC, and Stanford was such a boneheaded move by Swarbrick; it was robust enough schedule that 11-1 would've put is in good standing for the playoffs anyway. Mike Frank has brought up a very valid concern that Swarbrick is scheduling is out of contention.

MF reckons ND should have a schedule of USC, Stanford + every other game be a cupcake game.
