BK on DP show said this won't be the last time we play meatchicken

I have mixed feelings on this. 5 or 10 years ago I would say "Never drop this game." I was a bit upset at first when I heard it was being dropped. I realize they need it more than we need it, and at times it certainly seems like they want it more, but a win against Michigan is so satisfying. Even if USC is our biggest rival, there is nothing more pleasing than a win against scUM. Maybe it's the history, maybe it's the cocky fans I've seen come down from Ann Arbor (is a whore) over the years and pick fights in South Bend, I don't know. I've seen a number of wins against the Wolverines at home, and there's nothing like watching them slink off the field with their weaselly tail between their legs...never gets old.

Today, the idea of dropping Michigan has grown on me a bit. I still like the rivalry, but something tells me walking away from it is like a big "F-U" gesture. If I had to choose between keeping MSU or UM, I would pick MSU simply because there's good history there. Both schools got the finger from Michigan when trying to join the Big 10 back in the day, it's fitting that we chose to play each other as a result of that. I'd drop Purdue too if I could, but something tells me they may stay on the schedule with MSU.

If we reschedule Michigan we should move them to the middle or near the end of the schedule.

Just picked up a pair of tickets for this game. Endzone upperdeck row 25. How bad are these seats?

You'll have a good view of any scores in that end zone, but all other action will be going away from you. I sat in seats like that for Navy last year, and we were somewhat lucky where it was a high scoring day and lots of action at that end of the stadium. On the down side, we were biting our nails since our defense couldn't get a stop.

Haven't you heard? There is no bad seat in the stadium! Because you won't see much of the game, you job is to rile-up your whole quandrant of the stadium and get them to make noise. A hot day in South Bend, 10-12 tailgate beers, and the Irish up by 10 points tends to put those people to sleep. YOU are to single-handedly keep them fired up! Sat in that exact spot last year for the OU game...they were OK because i was sitting next to a hottie.

Herbie and Desmond think Michigan will be 10-1 going into the OSU game.

Am I missing something with Michigan this year? Wasn't Hoke on the hot seat? Is Nussmier gonna really change Gardner into a playaction god?

What is fueling all this? Didn't Howard have Michigan as being ranked in the top 6 or something?

Two things. Their defense is going to be good and Desmond is a dumbass.

Idk. I guess they think they will beat us and the rest of the schedule is cake except for MSU. Not the craziest prediction honestly.

They also said we would be 8-4, if we are lucky. Desmond actually said he sees more than 4 losses easily.

Yeah, I watch it less and less now. Lee is good for the last few minutes of the show, but other than that, he doesn't have any idea what he's talking about. Desmond is just a ND Hater/scUM homer, so I expect him to have those delusions of grandeur about them. Chris and Kirk are good analysts and the only real good thing about the show, even though Kirk is a bit of a wienie. Only parts worth watching are ND segments, when they happen, and the final minutes with the special guest (if they are good, a la Bill Murray).

UM's defense looks awesome, their offense is literally Funchess. And God damn it he's a man out there. Will be the best player on the field next week, but he seems to be all they have besides the Gardner scramble.

They broke a couple of big runs at end of half to skew the stats, but for the most part, App St. was holding their own against UM's run, and App st. is really bad. 4-8 last year in the FCS.

Their OL looks as bad as advertised.
