Of course you neocons think the coolest town in Texas is a mess. It's only the nicest place to live, the best nightlife and the highest percentage of educated people in the state.

You guys have fun watching monster truck rallies in Amarillo like poors. I'll go visit Zele and get BBQ at a cool ass bar on 6th St while listening to some of the best music in the country.

But I get it... You don't like liberals and shit. Don't forget to finish your corn dog before the trucks start flinging mud.

2nd most homeless in the country behind San Fran last I checked, the traffic is horrendous, and the infrastructure is falling apart. The economy is getting better, but it's not Houston or Dallas. The cost of living in Austin is insane as well. Better hope you find a great job.

It's an awesome city to visit, but I'd never wanna live there. With all dem educateds in Austin, you'd figure they'd have the leading economy in the state....What you have is a buncha "educated" bartenders, ultimate Frisbee players, and food truck owners.

I think Dallas has actually overtaken Houston as the top economy in the state...because the oil bust has taken us down a notch here.

Live music and entertainment? Austin rules. Same with outdoor activities. My kids love it at Zilker and Barton Springs.

I kind of agree... especially about the traffic and good to visit parts... the traffic is basically Los Angeles at times, if I'm moving cross country I want to leave the parts of Cali I distaste behind me... as far as visiting, I love it, but to live?

My wife and I are looking into moving out there (meaning Texas) in the next year or so, maybe it happens, maybe it doesn't but we are finally seriously looking... the cost of living/housing is just like the traffic, too Cali for us... I prefer other areas of Texas all things considered, just me.

And don't get me wrong...it's an awesome city. Taxes, insane real estate, and traffic are huge issues that everyone ignores because of the live music.

I35 may have surpassed I10 as the worst traffic in Texas. My God. It never moves.

I like Austin too... but it's not some lone shining light in middle of some vast darkness as some make it out to be... I like a lot of areas/towns/cities in Texas, including some better than Austin,... and in terms of moving/living there, the cost of living and traffic are two big drawbacks...

Was gone for the proliferation of posts in this thread but I had to come back and address a few things

this game is making me very nervous, I don't know much about texas and not sure what to expect from them. NDs offense is very good but can the young WRs step up in the first game of the year in a rowdy place like UT. how good will NDs defense be. the DL line looks good with rochell, tillery and jones. the LBs are talented but how will they fair knowing jaylon smith wont be their to bail them out. the CBs are going to be real good but what about studstill.

Okay, now that we have the bar set, and not very high at that - -
ND does a great job reloading the OL so to me starts means nothing. however texas may have a better left side of the line than ND. it cant be easy for a 300 lb. guy to get over an ankle injury though.

I want you to take a deep breath and think a little bit before you let your fingers loose on the keyboard.

ND may have an inferior left side of the line to no college team this year. But if they did, it wouldn't be Texas. Maybe Bama, OSU, Ole Miss, SC, nawh! Not Tenn, LSU, UGA, nor Stanford. Texas by any stretch wouldn't be in the top 25.

Not even if they were healthy.

Texas should be better than last year, but Sheldon Day totally abused them.

The aren't as experienced as Notre Dame.

They aren't as big as Notre Dame.

Nor are they as well conditioned as ND, even if they were healthy.

ND is the only team in the nation to have two offensive linemen that play next to each other make preseason AA teams. And it would have been almost damned unanimous if Zack Banner weren't some sportswriters darling. (I would never trade Mike McGlinchey for Zack Banner.)

So back to the thread.

The Shag is saying Nickelson was back at practice, and Shackelford is at 90%, so there's a good chance both will end up playing. Shackelford is still a freshman, but it would have been nicer to play against a 2nd stringer.

If they play an injured (even at 10%), true freshman at center against Jaron Jones, most of the game may be played by a Texas second stringer.

Maybe only two are out. The true freshman center looks to play - for a while.

They are trying to infer two of the three will play, though nothing is official.

If we listen to some posters and many Texas fans, the former starting left guard, who was the starting left tackle last year, is the only one really out.

You all remember than poor kid last year against Day. He kept getting called for false starts, holding, and other various penalties because the left side of their line was so porous last year.

Is it Sunday night yet?

I will change my opinion on this game 100 more times before Sunday lol

In July, I thought we were going to smash them again, then I thought it will be closer

Now I feel like its going to be a slugfest and will be happy with any outcome as long as ND is on the winning side... Just win Baby

Very curious to see how our defense comes out... nothing would really surprise me. There lies the key to the game and the season imo...

Yup. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to think about UT's offense so what will it tell us if ND shuts them down?

I thought about that... I guess it'll tell us they are sorted out enough to dominate who they should. Let's face it, just in the last 15 years we have seen numerous bad to even terrible offenses look real good against some sub par ND defenses...

don't know if this has been addressed of not, is the Football Schedule banner going to appear on the home page across the top as it has in previous years? The one that shows dates for upcoming games, and scores of past games.

Its going to be a very unproductive week at work for me and it doesn't help that I have to work both Saturday and Sunday this weekend lol.

If it doesn't feel like game week yet, I think Kelly's game presser is tomorrow at 12 so stay tuned for the tweet storm.

Yea I know the feeling. I didn't schedule my part time job effectively. Hopefully they leave the ambulance I am on alone.

SB Cubs have their last series of the regular season starting on Saturday. Luckily, the Sunday game is at 2:05 so I should be home in time for the game but that doesn't mean I won't be a nervous wreck all day lol

It is difficult finding pictures of nude women on the internet these days, isn't it?

Now we know who shut it down!

It wasn't a big deal that it was shut down, but the decision was a bit of a head scratcher tbh. I post or lurk on at least 3 other college football forums similar to IE, and they all have their own versions of the GC that are waaay more risque than what the GC ever was. We always kept it very classy. Hell, on the Shag they have a whole separate thread for nude ex-wifes and ex-gfs and a nude Tinder dating thread, no holds barred. At one point I think BuckeyePlanet and IE were both owned by the same person/people, but I don't think that's the case anymore. That site has always had the "Romper Room."
