Sure I agree but these guys (with a QB who is receiving pre-season honors mention in their league), probably should be respected at least to the point of saying they'll probably make a few plays. I just dislike completely dissing any athletes no matter where they play.

The roster isn't anything different than I have seen in the last 25 years as far as measurables go. They probably have some OL who were DL in high school and have been bulked up to converted. That's no different now than it was in the late 90s.

The million dollars ND is paying TSU is going to go a tremendously long way for TSU. Their entire athletic budget is pittance for ND Football. FCS schools have never had it easy, financially or competitively, and post Covid it hasn't gotten any better with NIL and the portal. FBS transfers would have to sit out a year unless they went to an FCS school and they could play right away. The portal takes that option away.

Recruiting is a nightmare. The moment a G5 FBS school finds a guy you like, that's the end. In some cases, they'd go to a P5 as a PWO and turn away a full ride. Before social media, it was easier to try and keep guys a secret. Now it is virtually impossible. 20 years ago we would do everything possible to make sure NIU and other MAC schools wouldn't find out about certain guys we wanted.

TSU has been down for a while now. They were back to back OVC champs in 1998 and 1999. They had a very good program at that time and it wound up being the Romo EIU teams that knocked them off of the throne. ND is going to be incredibly comfortable out there Saturday. Hopefully both teams finish it up healthy.

Well, the 400 pound NT is real. He's 6'3" and has started all games the past three seasons. He averages 1 tackle per game, and did have a blocked kick. The lines in general seem shortish (mostly 6'0" to 6'2" even on the OLine) but there are taller guys. The TEs are tall. The QB room has numbers and experience. Two of the QBs (returning quality starter and sit-out transfer of previous year) look legit. They are probably a decent football team.
They are a bad FCS team.
They won 4 & 5 games the last two seasons under George, & won a combined 9 games the 3 previous seasons.
They are middle of a bad FCS conference.
And below average for FCS in general.

As to whether the NT is 380 or 400, I remember when William Perry reported to the Bears training camp. Dan Hampton looked at him and said to his DLine buddies "That guy is just a biscuit short of 400." ... thus the Refrigerator's Chicago teammate nickname of "Biscuit." .... since 380 is the "official" weight, I'm going with 400 or 420 as the actual weight. ... Biscuits, you know.

As a roster comment, it is expected that their defense will feature better players than their offense despite an experienced QB. Their best players are expected to be two DBs, two LBs, and a defensive lineman (not the heavy guy.)

Idk how TSU stops this offense. We proved against Navy if you stack the box, Hartman is going to pick you apart. With their undersized line, if they don't stack the box, we are going to be opening up massive holes for our five RBs who are all going to be fresh as can be through four quarters given the deep rotation.

They won't be able to stop us.

If they try to stop the pass and not the run like you hinted at we could have 3-100 yard rushers. 😳

Did I miss some TSU quotes/statements about Saturday’s game?

Do they know who Sam Heisman is?

Hopefully its a simple blow out and Hartman the backups are in the second half.

Sad to see USC be the only one to never play an FCS team. :-(

From just a fan of football perspective, this is gonna be a brutal watch most likely. I mean worse than your usual cupcake disaster.

If I was TSU I’d come out with every trick play in the book

Anyone remember App St vs michigan?
App St was the 1-AA powerhouse of the day. That season they won their 3rd straight Natty. This isn't the same scenario.

If we were playing NDSU or SDSU it could be a different story. Maybe.

Anyone remember App St vs michigan?
You mean the two-time defending FCS champions that won it for the third straight year in 2007? The App State team that had one of the best QBs in FCS? That App State team? Tennessee State isn't even in the same ballpark as that App State team.

The only question I have about this game is who is going to put up more points by halftime. Notre Dame or Georgia (playing TN Martin).

Last year the Skyhawks took it to the Tigers in a classic showdown 20-3. Look out for the Skyhawks if you’re a Bulldog fan.
