If you take a step back, it's actually pretty hilarious how typically ND this is. Destroy a team in the opener, fans and media get hyped as hell, players are anointed as elite, and then the next week reality comes crashing down. Texas fans must be down in the dumps haha - I'd be very worried about Rice.

I really became a fan of ND in 2005 and it seems like for the past decade I've been watching the same season over and over again. How is it possible that through 2 HC's, and countless coordinators, position coaches, hundreds of different players, etc. that we can be more or less the same team? We make the same mistakes and have the same shortcomings even with "better" players?

I think the most frustrating part is that we always end up with "just okay" results but we never play "just okay." We play phenomenally, or we play like we've never seen a football before.

Yeah and Alabama ended the first quarter only up 7 on some FCS scrub team. But the thing is, OSU and Alabama, have a lot of reason to have faith. Their coaches are the two best in the game. From 5 years and 1 1/2 games of BK I do not have that faith. We just lost to Northfreakinwestern last year man. We might squeak this one out but at some point down the road we're going to have this happen again and we'll lose.

If there's one thing I'm confident about in any ND team is that they will get big heapings of adversity.

Yeah, I get what Sherm is trying to do... But when ND wins Nattys and dominates the majority of games they play, then we can take these games in stride... Part of getting to that point is eliminating this bullshit for the most part, I think the board gets that, so seeing it AGAIN has people ready to explode.

There is "overnight" and there is 6 years into your HC tenure. I was super patient for the first 4 1/2 years. Patience is running out. We're not that much improved year 1 to now. We make a lot of the same errors and we have a lot of the same shortcomings.
