I hope not. I've been a supporter of the players and hope they didn't do it. That being said, if they did do it, I'll be disappointed in them. That isn't a direct correlation with their guilt, i'm already disappointed in them for getting into this situation in the first place. Their perceived guilt handed down by a kangaroo court filled with pimple faced students wont effect my opinion one way or the other. Frankly, it's impossible for anyone to be too disappointed when none of us know the details of what happened. Nor will we probably ever be privy to them.

I think that regardless of their guilt, what most people are pissed about have nothing to do with the players themselves. We're disappointed in the process. If people are hoping that these young men did something stupid, simply in hopes that the university saves face, then I am sorry to disappoint them... the university already does have mud on their face. This process was small-timey and completely ridiculous. Regardless of what they "find out", it doesn't change the fact that this was handled extremely bad.

If the players legitimately cheated, and we decide to vacate wins, all hell raised should towards the Univ/ADs decision to voluntarily vacate wins when we had no knowledge/hand in the cheating.

I don't see a scenario where I'm upset with the players after this process has gone on like it has unless they've been killing puppies while having someone do their work.

IMO, if they're cheated on papers (which half of this board has done), they've already gone through enough embarassment and punishment so I'm not upset with them at all. If we vacate wins, it's not on them. It's on our poor decision to offer that up as well as kicking them off of the team.

If ND covered it up, I get it and don't blame them. But I doubt that's the case.

One source stating that they will never play for ND again. Another stating that a 2015 return is possible.

Pete sounds confident that they're done for the year. Heard from 2 sources close to the players.

Not all 5 faced the same charges, but like the above said, doesn't expect any to play this year or maybe ever. Whether they'll be expelled or suspended is unknown.

Hopefully his sources are wrong but I doubt it.

My original source said two would be permanently kicked out and two would have chance to return to ND (didn't specify this year or next or what they would have to do for that chance). Obviously this was awhile ago (notice pre Eilar Hardy announcement), and I'm not sure how that info could've been certain unless they've been expecting that since early on?

Damn.

That sounds like they are getting that suspension/expulsion-with-opportunity-to-reapply punishment that I've seen doled out over the years. Isn't that what Golson got? I might be using the wrong term for it.

If so, ND really let these kids down by dragging the process out. They did 6 weeks of school work for nothing.

Could care less about vacating wins. They happened, I was there or watched it live. Vacating wins seems a lot like returning worn clothes with the tag still on. Yeah you can have it back, I've had my fun in it already.

True enough. Maybe a better way of putting it would be, ND added insult to injury by moving so slowly.

Lol. Yes, I completely agree. I absolutely could not care less about vacating wins. It's utter nonsense to "vacate" a historical fact.

Let alone that universities can give them up to avoid future punishment is hilarious. That's a duh choice everyday of the week.

Except we're forever tossing away the #1 winning percentage and will never chase down all-time wins.

Vacating wins would mean that shitstain university up north likely takes back the winning percentage. I agree vacating doesn't really matter going forward, but I'm proud of that record.
