Who said they aren't being responsible? Just because they are going out most nights doesn't mean that they are getting hammered or acting irresponsibly. You are making an assumption about them with very little information (just that they go out). Now I will admit that it is possible that they are getting hammered out of their minds but it is just as possible that they have very little to do (classes just started a few days ago) and with no football they have tons of free time on their hands so they are hanging out with some friends to kill time. Also how is adults going out for a drink "embarrassing for the university"?
I never made assumptions that they were acting up or getting hammered. What I am saying is that they shouldn't be putting themselves in compromising situations when their actions have already caused our current state of national embarrassment.
Tell me, what do you think the headlines would be if some drunk bro came up to them at the bar and started a fight? Do you think the national media would say, "oh, they were just being kids and not really drinking too much at the bar". No... they would say that a bunch of already suspended Notre Dame football players were out getting hammered and beating up people.
Perception is reality, my friend. Regardless of how they are acting inside the actual club, there is zero upside to being there in the first place. Again, they have their entire lives to dance on fatties in sh!tty nightclubs. I don't think giving it a rest until the dust has cleared from a national story they created is too much to ask.
Again... you don't see KRuss and DD out there every night. This isn't "one night blowing off steam", they have continued to be seen out partying. Its embarrassing.
