Exactly. I absolutely hate that this is happening, and Michigan, but I respect and am amazed at how this is being handled. It's no big deal at other places because the student part doesn't matter in the first place. This is not everywhere mind you, but over the last few years I have not heard of any other school kicking out football players for cheating. Granted you would actually have to go to class for that to apply. Anyways, disappointed in the acts, but proud of the reactions.

Reading between the lines, If it's an email investigation, should go rather quickly. ND will have digital
Copies of everything. Not a lot of ambiguity in that I imagine.

This has been a pattern of his. I don't see any way DD makes it thru this. And his dad going with him will be a good thing.

The thing is: by being such a dunce he could be helping the other three kids.

I hate to lose any ND student, but when your Dad is mouthing off it makes you really hard to like.

Why is the word "scandal" being thrown out by people? Seems like the University is doing exactly what it should have. Can 4 teenage boys commit a scandal? Seems like a word that suggests institutional wrongdoing to me.

I here what you are saying, and I don't have all the facts, but I can't really blame Dad. These kids are getting crucified on a national level with no platform to speak for and defend themselves. I'd like to think I'd defend my child somehow as well. It sounds to me like the football players are not the only guilty parties, but they are the only one's being publicly humiliated.

Agreed. Especially since DD has already been through a lot, I can understand his dad's feelings if this whole thing is just a bad mix up. God how sweet would it be if this whole thing ends up being minor infractions and they only miss a game or two.

Sometimes I wonder if I should even be a fan of sports at all. This is disgusting.

While kids are getting signed to big time programs after beating women, brandishing weapons, etc. etc... ND is getting raked through the coals because they are (I hate to use the term) pro-actively taking steps to keep their academics right.

How dare we find out kids are cheating and punish them for it? We're such frauds.

This is the part that is so annoying about when ND has to deal with turmoil. Everything gets blown way out of proportion. Te'o was a victim, and his deceiver admitted that, yet he gets mocked and ridiculed. Kids at school get caught cheating POSSIBLY, then an investigation ensues but ND is just like everyone else? Hardly. I know it sucks when this kind of stuff happens, but it sucks more because of the way idiot reporters with sources that do not have names make outlandish claims. Being a long time ND fan I have learned to deal with the hate. It just gets old sometimes. I appreciate your stance on this and it is nice to know that people understand how well people like Jenkins and Swarbrick handle these unfortunate events.

I made the mistake of reading this, (not your fault) and made the bigger mistake reading a few comments by some ND haters. One ass called Golson a low life for his mistake. I started to write a response but thought better of it, I couldn't reign my emotions in.
Cheating goes on everywhere, Harvard the academies etc. but somehow people enjoy trashing ND more than any institution. Well, its just makes me a more loyal fan.
