She is with Xenu now.

At the risk of getting sued by them or having Tom show up at my house and jump on my sofa, that entire cult is some kinda seriously wacko. Even the other nutjob cults look at them and think, "Whoa dude, dial it back."

RIP Grant Imahara from Mythbusters. Brain aneurysm is the rumor.

Just saw a write up about this. Didn't realize Grant worked on the Star Wars prequels and a lot of other work for ILM and other companies. I only knew about his history with Mythbusters. Very talented engineer.

I've got news for ya.....All religion is a money grab. Wanna pray to a statue or deity, knock yourself out. The Tom statement made me laugh though. Well played.

Legendary British guitarist Peter Green passed away today. No cause of death was given. Green replaced Clapton in John Mayall's Blues Breakers and then went on to found Fleetwood Mac. He wrote Oh Well and Black Magic Woman, the latter of which became a big hit for Santana. After a few years in Fleetwood Mac, Green's behavior started becoming erratic and he was diagnosed as schizophrenic. Heavy drug use, including large amounts of LSD and mescaline, made things even worse and his career more or less ended. Extremely talented as a blues and rock guitarist, but not healthy enough to achieve the career his talent merited.

I saw the news on Green earlier,... ‘Who did the original version of Black Magic Woman?’ is one of the best music trivia questions,... I’ve stumped many a music fan with that one.

RIP Regis. He had a great ride. I think his degree from ND was In sociology.

Actor John Saxon has passed away at the age of 83. You sort of have to be of a certain age to know who he is, but if you grew up in the 70's, he was that guy who was in everything. He worked with Brando, Eastwood, starred alongside Bruce Lee (he was a martial arts expert), and made guest appearances on countless TV shows.

More than just a GWTW star. Won two Oscars for other roles. She sure got her money’s worth out of life and then some.

Lou Henson has went to the big arena in the Sky. His combover was referred to as the Loudo. In the 80's, he had some stud teams at Illinois. The problem was the B1G had Purdue, IU and scUM rolling at that time. I’m sure Cruz remembers some of his teams. RIP Lou.

This has always been a bizarre case for me. The guy spent, what, 80 days in the slammer? Completely justified. $800,000 in fines though, for trees? I get the trees were significant, but that seemed rather excessive. He only paid something like $7000 of that amount, and the replacements were set on fire a few years later by someone else. The whole thing was a bit much. Don't get me wrong, I'm indifferent to both Alabama and Auburn football, but at the end of the day....they were just trees. 80 days and $7000 felt like more than enough punishment.

Saw an article where "The combined cost to try to save the original trees, the planting of the new trees and improvements to Toomer's Corner totaled around $900,000..."

Looks like Harvey got off 100k light.

The whole thing just illustrates why we should drop Alabama from the U.S. Time to make America Somoa a state. Maybe we could instill some sort of pro/relegation system.

Who pays a million dollars to replant a couple trees? People in Alabama, that's who.

I think a lot of the money went into trying to decontaminate the ground around the trees, which Updyke had poisoned. He was a nut. Had no meaningful connection to Bama, but was a rabid fan from TX who took offense to some Auburn fans committing some minor vandalism on the Bama campus. He reminded me of someone who'd fried half his brain cells on alcohol or drugs and just wasn't all there. One of the more bizarre incidents in the history of sports rivalries.
