Wow. I just watched the special on him the other day. It showed a lot about his living conditions before becoming a you tube star. Also showed his current living condition and how he was supporting his family. I feel for his family.

wow - I was absolutely amazed by his Youtube fights and even more amazed when I came across one where a guy was keeping up with him and they were so exhausted they were simply slapping each other at the end. I think it was actually a police officer from what I heard.

Then I was even more surprised when he came into the MMA and was nothing from what I thought it would be watching youtube. I guess when you go up against professionals you can expect that.

RIP to a man, who at the very least, used his "gifts" to provide hours upon hours of entertainment, and was ultimately able to provide for his family.

I'll always remember that his first fight against Ken Shamrock was supposed to be on the night of my high school graduation party (I think it may have also been his first professional MMA fight in general).

Then Shamrock "got hurt" pre-fight, and some pink-haired dude stepped up in his place, and proceeded to quickly beat the sh*t out of Kimbo from out of nowhere. I sat in the back room of where my grad party was with all of my friends, and we watched in shock as this invincible monster of Youtube fame was made to look like a fool. What a night that was.

Wait, forgive my ignorance here but now I'm curious... Slice wasn't some dominating champion of MMA, he was much more famous for just fighting random dudes on the internet??

Internet sensation who was signed to a smaller promotion (Strikeforce) who wanted the eyeballs he could bring. Later tried to make a legitimate run at MMA and signed on to try to get in UFC through the Ultimate Fighter reality show. Never a serious contender.

Yes, you have it. I mean no disrespect to the memory of Mr. Slice but he beat up people who were inferior fighters. Anytime he went against a serious fighter, he usually lost. But he certainly developed a following.

I hope his family finds solace and may he RIP.
