I lot of my HS kids seem very religious. Mostly non-Catholic though. There's probably 50 kids that meet weekly for Bible club in the room across the hall from me, and that's just touching the surface of the number of kids that often wear Christian themed clothing.

I've been seeing a lot of posts on my social media of a somewhat resurgence of young adults converting to Catholicism. As someone who feels my wanting to maybe start OCIA someday (admittingly kinda wish-washy on commitment), I was wondering if others of the faith are noticing this?

I've seen some stories on it. Not sure how much is perception/media and how much is reality. Hope it's tangible!

My friend takes pictures for events/weddings. She did the Easter Vigil for a parish in Fargo and they had like 30 adult confirmations and several adult baptisms. So that's nice to see.

I was watching a YouTube video (I think Ascension Presents), and the priest said when you're trying to decide if Catholicism is right for you, google the following questions... who started the Lutheran church, who started the baptist church, who started...etc. Then finally google who started the Catholic church... felt like one heck of a nice drop. To me at least.

Most people we've ever had at our Easter service this year ("Protestant") in my 7 years as pastor of this current church. And those who were new seemed hungry and open to the Gospel of Jesus. There is without question a cultural move happening. Talked with my buddies in ministry and they experienced the same this Easter

We had to have police traffic control because of the amount of attendees. It was nuts... EVery week if we show uo 5 minutes early we will not get a seat. 15 minutes ahead of mass in my parish is required just to have a seat.

Back in the day, a family friend who was a CSC used to call those people “Chreasters”. They only go to church on Christmas and Easter.

The old people here at my retirement home become stuck by this time. If they were maintaining religious activity late, they still are. And they come every Sunday that they physically can. If they came to the community without such religious care, they don't convert. They push their walkers around but not to Church. ... they don't mind, however, when I mention that I wish them a Happy Birthday, a Happy Holydays, and/or a prayer for them to get healing for their latest fall. So, if there IS a resurgence in the younger age groups, it is none too soon. I'm regularly saddened by the apparent spiritual emptiness of half our aged population here. ... but there is their Saviour TV to welcome them.

My wife would say otherwise And now I just happened to notice the same guy was standing there before the jig when they're all lined up, completely missed that till now, that was clearly more visible than the fight scene.

I ran into the director after Mass. She said our giant conference room, where they normally hold classes, wouldn't seat that amount of people (candidates plus sponsors...160+).

My wife joked...."Over 100 new Catholics...can we skip the Easter Vigil?" hahaha

There is something called parasite stress theory (pathogen stress theory). It notes that areas with higher infectious rates tend to conform to certain traits/psychology. This includes religiosity. I suspect declining religious orientation will reverse for the next decade after the pandemic

My cousin’s grand daughter goes to a place called Little Flower. A Catholic grade school down the street from Scecina (my first HS).

I knew she wasn’t baptized but was surprised that she had never been to Mass. I just assumed she had. Took her to her first Mass last weekend.

She’s all into it now. Wants to be in the choir. Catholic doesn’t just baptize anyone…that’s my next step.

This is wild to me. I expected a large majority of the Catholic influx in recent years to be the Latin American migration, 83 does seem like a ton for one parish. It's good to see!
