My cousin’s grand daughter goes to a place called Little Flower. A Catholic grade school down the street from Scecina (my first HS).

I knew she wasn’t baptized but was surprised that she had never been to Mass. I just assumed she had. Took her to her first Mass last weekend.

She’s all into it now. Wants to be in the choir. Catholic doesn’t just baptize anyone…that’s my next step.

She goes to Catholic grade school and had never been to Mass? Yikes

We had monthly Mass back in my day (90s) and I think they go weekly now.

There is something called parasite stress theory (pathogen stress theory). It notes that areas with higher infectious rates tend to conform to certain traits/psychology. This includes religiosity. I suspect declining religious orientation will reverse for the next decade after the pandemic

"Parasite stress theory" ... Lord. So, if a bunch of humans think that death is imminent, they begin thinking more about God and less about the Stock Market or Buffalo wings and TV? BRILLIANT!! My old academic colleagues, bless their cliche-ridden and morally-incompetent brains will make up names to publish anything to get tenure.

The fact that this "theory of scared behavior in morally-retarded adults" has nothing to do with actual spirituality and God and Love and the real meaning of Life and Creation, well?, who cares? Somehow my old academic friends can hide away for another moment ignoring their own masked poverty. I knew so many. HOW they could be so "small" in the mind while so "big" in the brain always stunned me.
