When I used the word "explicit" I meant it. I feel just as uncomfortable when I have to hear about details of straight guys "conquests".

I can go for some sex humor now and then, but I wish that sex was used less often by the media and advertising. I think its degrading to women the way the media portrays them as purely sex objects.

And I am not a huge fan of locker room talk.

Agree with all of that.

I have generally found such talk to be acceptable in straight male conversation. I find it awful.

I'll break it down:

5 people decide to become anarchists and try to blow up a bridge in Cleveland. A life they know will subject them to ridicule.

Makes sense to me.

These guys are trying to make/prove a point, get a reaction from someone... They are choosing to make a statement.

Gay people don't choose to be gay in order to protest or gain equal rights for others who share the same sexual orientation.

Apples and oranges. Completely illogical comparison.

I will throw this out there... nature and nurture can both play a part in just about anything from person to person... I know many people who at some point in their youth claimed homosexuality or bisexuality and it was all a part of greater self-destructiveness that many young people take part in, some simply never grew out of it... and, I know others who have always made such claims and swear they always just were... I believe it really varies person to person, case to case, for just about any issue... not just this.

btw, what does any of this have to do with some guy preaching about not bullying people then shouting names at, and ridiculing people who don't agree with him??

Lots of good posts to read when I got home from work. I'm glad it's remained civil, further proof that IE is a great forum.

Nothing is going to be resolved here but I think its a very important discussion.

My thought for the day on the topic:

It's interesting to me that God has given humans the ability to do anything they want knowing they'll eventually be judged, but some people feel it necessary to intervene in others lives and claim they're doing it on his behalf.
