Didn't see one made yet...everyone too frustrated or hung over?

My thoughts...

Nice to win, but frustrating game.

Concerned about play calling, BW passing, and OLine lapses.

D was mediocre at first and then turned on...possibly wore BC down with rotation?

Intrigued to see how we look against MSU

Is there a reason we don't call a pass play where BW can set his feet? Always seems to throw on the run.

I thought the defense played pretty well, except for a few stretches when they couldn't get sufficient pressure and BC's QB kind of picked us apart. That was worrisome. Otherwise played well (and turnovers!). Still curious how they'll hold up when we actually play a good offense though...

Because we're sure not winning any shootouts until Wimbush gets his passing-game head on straight. Holy hell that was ugly. And not sure how you fix it in a week.

I'm glad we pulled away in the second half. BC is usually a pretty tough team, and we wore them down on both sides of the ball.

When you see the running game do this you kind of get why they felt it'd be more productive last week...

secondary is much stronger than we all assumed thus far...

Passing game is an obviously area for improvement...

Need BC Band Bios....

Wimbush isn't good at passing, yet. Will he be good in two years? Yes. Does BK have that time though? Probably not.

It might against Stanford. And by then hopefully Wimbush has matured as a passer.
The team we've seen the last two weeks isn't beating USC though.

How many times did we pass on first down or second down if it was 10 yards or less in the first half? Every single one of those was a terrible decision.

don't want, NEED a 2 RB set with Williams and Adams.

We're halfway to last years win total!!
Work in progress guys. Some hiccups but I feel it's going to be like that all year.
Play calling is bizarre at times. Dex rips a 12 yard run for a first, then we go empty backfield 3 and out.
Wimbush is going to be the real deal, but his accuracy is way off right now. I watch teams with much less talent have effective passing attacks and it's frustrating. But hard to complain about 600 yards of offense. No matter how it came.
I think we kept the defense pretty plain today. Looked like we were more active with blitzes last week.
Hopefully we keep improving and tighten things up. Have a great week all!

Wimbush looks like a true freshman... It doesn't appear he has put in the work to be the starter for ND... Talented? Yes! But, he should have only played 2 qtrs. this game...

Offense: I think the team found their identity as an offense, and its going to make everything look better. Yes, BW needs to be better passing, but I think were going to put him in positions now that make it easier for him. Just a feeling, but I think our offense is going to look a lot more like Ohio State with Barrett. We're going to be running a ton, and Dexter needs to get more carries. Obviously Adams is great, but I'd rather not have him worn down by game 8. He had ~160 carries last year and already has ~60 through 3 games this year. And these are hard carries, not running out of bounds but straight into the teeth of the defense.

Defense: Wow, what a change a year makes. I cant even imagine what this defense would look like if we hadnt stopped recruiting defensive players for three years. There are some areas I'd like to see us improve at, but I actually trust that we will either improve them or gameplan to mask them. Through 3 games, though now against the best offenses in the country, we're allowing less than 3 TDs per game. In todays game that seems like an accomplishment. If we make some adjustments on offense, I trust them to score enough that we'll be in every game. It will be interesting to see what happens when sc comes to town.

Overall: Man, I was straight up on the ledge during the first half. But for the first time in forever, we didn't collapse under the pressure, but made the other team crack. We made adjustments at halftime and then we let our players make plays. It felt good to put a team away in the fourth and not worry about it. I now have a renewed excitement for this season.

You're not sure how you can fix accuracy in a week?

I'll tell you.

Confidence. The kid has nerves, like most new qbs playing on the road for the first time, ever.

Good game, passing attack will come around. Could very well end up that Wimbush will be a stud runner and ND will be an option/ running offense with passing the secondary component - that's the identity being proffered to date.

Crawford has a knack for making a difference. 3 interceptions in his last 4 games.

So what happened vs Georgia, when he completed less than 50% of his passes, heck against Temple it was 56.7% of passes. It isn't confidence, it is his mechanics and that is hard to fix in a week. He doesn't always set his feet and he has happy feet. Also he doesn't do angoodnjob of reading defenses and most of the time he doesn't work through his progressions. I agree that his confidence might be down right now in reference to passing but that is because of the above listen issues causing problems.

Wimbush is good enough with his legs to help us win against average and worse teams. A team with good athletes on D (Georgia and USC and possibly Stanford and Miami, FL) it won't be good enough.

He needs to improve in the passing game and fast. Unfortunately I think that his issues can't be fixed that fast.

Crawford is awesome. He just has a knack for finding the football and making big plays. He has the look of a special player and we need to keep him on the field this year.

Okwara played really well too. Love his motor. That play where he came back and popped the ball out of the RB's hand was pure hustle. Got a lot of speed off the edge with him and D. Hayes.

Drue was Drue. He was born to play Rover!

Defense still missed a lot of tackles. Martini had several that I noticed. Morgan had a few too. Gotta clean that up next week!

As everyone has mentioned, Wimbush really, really struggled with his throws. EQ was open and overthrown like 5 or 6 times. The guy is 6'5" tall. No excuse to consistently overthrow a target that tall. Wimbush needs to work on his timing with his WR ALL week! I think we need to run some option next week to add some versatility to the offense since we can't seem to move the ball through the air right now.

Liked seeing Alize get more involved today (he was our leading receiver)...but I felt the play calling for him was too vanilla. Would like to see him get some looks downfield to take advantage of his athleticism and speed.

O-Line opened up some big holes today. Thought they all played relatively well and just wore down BC in the 2nd half.

Adams looked great. Dexter still needs more meaningful carries.

Glad to see Book and the backups get some reps. Bring on the Spartans!!!

For me, the concern isn't accuracy, though that needs work as well. The concern is Wimbush lacks any pocket presence, at all. He's scrambling into pressure. He's rushing progressions when he doesn't need to. He goes through his progressions so fast that it's unreasonable to expect some of those longer dveloping routes to be open. Which, at least to me, is a far greater concern than not being able to hit open WR's.

His mind is scrambling at the snap, regardless of pressure. Which is surprising because you'd think, though these are his first starts, after being in the system for 3 years, he'd at least understand the concepts of the passing game. There is virtually none.

Dantonio will force us to pass like UGA did. If BW isnt ale, it'll be a long day.

The secondary wasnt impressive in coverage nor tackling (though i believe Coleman was playing w/ a bum shoulder banged up in 1st half). Lewerke is much better than the BC QB. Hopefully we can get more hits on the QB.

He also tucks as soon as he feels pressure (doesn't help with happy feet). He doesn't stay in a passing position or keep his eyes down field.

He actually does usually go thru progressions. Problem is that he goes thru them so fast that he never gives the receiver a chance. He has to slow down his game....not the game.
