That was one impressive win. They took it to them early and played almost mistake free. Golson's only int came off a blindside near sack. ND stepped up on both the o and d lines. The young corners are looking better every game, Manti was more dominant than I can recall any ND lb being since Bob Crable, they drive the ball to a fg from their 4 at a key juncture late in the game to completely crush any hope MSU might have had at a comeback.

Our boys are looking good...it is great to be Irish tonight!
INT I didn't see any INT what I saw was a tipped pass that hit the ground.

Very impressed with our dbacks, obviously it was against a less than stellar passing attack, but in 1 on 1 situations our guys looked solid in knocking down passes

Also Golson's INT was overturned so he was error free!!!

* Defence was great : Ill take a line from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid : "Who are those guys"

* Kicking game was great.

* We took command at the line of scrimmage.

* I understand what Kelly is trying to do with the development of Golson. Had Rees been in there the score would have been a bit higher. Our passing game looked a bit lathargic to say the least.

* The mix of different defensive schemes was giving Mich St. fits !! Cudos to Coach Diaco. pardon the spelling.

BRING ON MICHIGAN !!!

KEEP THE FAITH !!!

GO IRISH !!!!

See you all at the game next week I'll be there. First game since 2002. Can't wait !!!

Barkley looks like he wants to cry in post game interview. Reps, Tree.

Herbie was almost speechless choking on ND praise.

The defense in general was awesome. Nice to have depth up front. EG is growing before our eyes missed a few easy passes but did enough to get the win. Ben was huge punting the ball he helped the defense with his 3 50 yard pints that helped us in field position. Kelly slacked off on the play calling but love the rushing attack at the end of the game was sweeeeeet.

1. A HUGE win, on the road, over a Top 10 team. Congrats to the players, the coaches, the equipment guys, the trainers, the cheerleaders........... hell, congrats to EVERYONE who supports the Blue and Gold.

2. The Defense showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. This D is for real!

3. Golson is a good QB, but not great yet. He is, understandably, making underclassman mistakes. That's to be expected. He's mobile, but he's not a GREAT runner.

4. I think what is really lacking on this team is polish. That's polish, as in luster, not Polish, as in The Polish Irishman. They play as a team........... but there are some gaps in their game. So they can look kind of Jekyll and Hyde-ish.

5. USC can suck it!!

Correction: The D line is for real.

Why do people keep repeating this? No one ever said Everett was Denard. Two rushing TD's in a matter of games is pretty good. Who was the last Irish QB to do that?

I respectfully disagree. Had Rees been in there MSU would have gotten away with loading up the box and playing tight on the WRs. Golson's mobility allowed Kelly to move the pocket around frustrating MSU's front four and his strong arm stretched the field and made MSU pay for leaving corners in one on one coverage. Rees could not have done either of those things.

Nothing to nit-pick about this game! MSU has a great defense so I'm not going to complain about the offense in the second half. GREAT win for the program, a big step forward!

Go Irish! BEAT MICHIGAN!!!

Yup!

2. The Defense showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. This D is for real!

I think the front was killer...Shembo is quietly having a whale of a year. It really comes down to pressure...we generated constant pressure on the QB...he had 3 seconds to read, recognize, release...I was actually impressed he completed ANYTHING. Kid has a pretty quick release and a pretty good gun...We never let him settle in though...D-backs had a better day, but they need to keep working...saw a handfull of plays that could have been big, but the ball never got delivered or was overthrown. Keep working ...MUCH improved...

3. Golson is a good QB, but not great yet. He is, understandably, making underclassman mistakes. That's to be expected. He's mobile, but he's not a GREAT runner.

Yea...EG made a few plays with his feet, and we stung them for a few long pass plays, but it was pretty inconsistent...Sparty has a pretty good D...but, not SEC-like. I thought TJ showed up today, and Goody..THATS finishing. He walled off the defender, and locked on to the ball, and did everthing he could to keep it in his "HAND". Perfect concentration...Perfect technique...YOU GO GOODY! C-Wood was a little rusty, but man did he light them up when it was gut check time...Holy stiff arm batman...that was AWESOME...WOW! Oline...scratching my head. Don't know what to think...looked pretty tough in the 4th...but man, not so tough early on.

4. I think what is really lacking on this team is polish. That's polish, as in luster, not Polish, as in The Polish Irishman. They play as a team........... but there are some gaps in their game. So they can look kind of Jekyll and Hyde-ish.

Good way to put it...

5. USC can suck it!!

I wasn't expecting them to get clipped by the Cardinal..ouch. Their O-line...We can get to Barkley I think...hope so...

Did anyone else get the feeling that EVERYTHING bounced NDs way tonight?

It seemed like every kick/punt bounced right, Manti's INT, field goals spun like knuckleballs between the posts, MSU had two sure INTs... Dropped.

It just seemed perfect.
Great game, prayers with Manti, what a fantastic ambassador for the school.

Go Irish!

Uhh no. Pretty awful PI call on 3rd down against ND. They got away with some holds. I know it happens every down but there was some serious jersey grabbin due to the Dlines relentlessness. I'll give you one dropped INT, the other would have been an insane grab. ND dropped a few INTs themselves. The Manti play was just a result of a 4th down stop he was going out of bounds, how is that lucky?

So again, uh NO! haha

I feel it would have been a wash. EG made scrambles TR could never dream of making. TR probably would have hit those two bombs for touchdowns though.

D was great
Kicking game was great (Turk and Brindza)
Oline was rough till the end of the game.
Golic needs to be replaced.
Golson is pretty good but still rather inaccurate, especially on deep throws.[/QUOTE]

I guess you missed that throw to Goodman. He missed others, but damn.....

Just my observations. when we play someone better. How long do you wait til you replace him with someone that has more experience ?? passing game still looks lathargic. Are we gonna just sit there ??
