trumbetti interception for a TD was good too....
Oh yeah I forgot about that
trumbetti interception for a TD was good too....
There were 2 entertaining things that happened in the game...
1.) The 98 yard TD run
2.) The marshmallow fight we had in the student section
Other than that, it was the most boring home game of the year

The marshmallow fight on TV was annoying.
No offense, ryan, but this is probably what is most "wrong" with Notre Dame football. You get 6, maybe 7 chances each year to witness a Notre Dame win in Notre Dame stadium. If that's not exciting enough for you, then maybe you don't really get what it is all about.
Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed the game as it was my last one as a student. But I went to every home game this year and, out of all the home games, it was the least entertaining

Does it mean that we have "arrived" when we are dissatisfied with a 21 point win? I heard the sports channels saying things like "ND taking care of business" or "ND getting it done". We had multiple people get some reps that needed them and others that got to take some plays off. I think I'm in the minority that thinks we did what we needed to. The coaches will work on the areas that were flat yesterday and we will be ready for BC.
Holy hyperbole Batman! A)We haven't played with anyone named Prossise all year long, but we have had a guy named Prosise and he has been pretty good.
B)I know BC's defense is legit but to think we won't win without Prosise? Crazy talk. We may not win with "style points" but how is BC going to score? I expect a similar outcome to this Saturday next Saturday. A lot of salty ND fans moaning about "style points" after a 3 TD victory.
I was at the game and the marshmallow crap was ridiculous. I'm all for good fun but it was being thrown on the field and was hitting the players and coaches. That's not cool.
1. Screw the spread, screw the committee. Just win, baby! And we did. Not the prettiest win, but still a convincing one.
2. Wake Forest had 4 trips inside the Red Zone, coming away with one score; a touchdown. ND had 2 trips inside the Red Zone, coming away with two scores; both touchowns. Winning the Red Zone is a nice improvement for this team.
3. ND played a lot of young guys, which might explain some of the struggles. Also, looking at the participation report, it looks like a lot of the seniors got a chance to get in, as well. Guys like Turner, Ossello, Cavalaris, Daly; all got reps tonight.
4. Considering that we started a true freshman RB, putting up 28 points is not such a bad thing. I'm sure they COULD have done better, but they did win rather easily. Which leads me into my next observation:
5. It seems like this offense sometimes goes into "cruise mode", when they get an early lead. The coaches don't seem to let it last that long, but it does seem like it allows opponents an opportunity to keep it closer than it should be.
6. The Offensive Line seemed to have an off night. It seemed like I saw a lot more D Linemen in the backfield than at any other time this year. But, again, I think that might have been a little bit of sleepwalking, once they got the lead.
7. The ND Club of NENY had a GREAT game watch. They had a "dj" there, to provide all of the sounds that you would hear at the stadium, minus Crazy Train. Played the fight song after each touchdown; played the 1812 Overture at the start of the 4th Q. I told them, "If you really want to simulate the stadium experience, you should pair everyone up, and make each pair share one chair."
My game ball goes to...... you have to give it to Josh Adams. Longest run from scrimmage in ND history.
agree
...so what jackass decides to throw a wad of marshmallows on the field during the game?
Man...wanna see purple face...let ND get a penalty for that crap.
It happened multiple times...does no one work security?
Re-watched the game...
I'll take the W. However, this is the least impressed I've been outside the Clemson loss. Wake's RB had his season high rushing. (and yes I heard Flutie stress how badly they have sucked running the ball over the last two seasons). Wake QBs were very effective. Wake shot themselves in the foot in the Red Zone, otherwise this is a shootout. ND O line was sleepwalking. Corners are Gary Grey reincarnate...what I thought would be a strength is clearly THE most consistent point of failure on the defense. Kicking consistency is not good.
It is a W but I'm guessing film review was interesting...
I agree with you, outside of WF shooting themselves in the foot in the redzone. Our defense deserves a ton of credit for keeping them in check when they got inside our territory.

It was a Diaco defensive performance. The other team went for a lot of yards, led in TOP but we held them in the red zone and ultimately gave up only 7 points.
I hate their coach.

There were probably 3 or 4,000 seniors participating in the marshmallow fight. I'm not really sure what the ushers could've done to make it stop. I wasn't one of the jackasses that threw a wad of marshmallows on the field as I was sitting too far up and my arm wasn't strong enough lol. But its a senior day tradition and I'm glad the refs tolerated it
Defense was really bad. You say ND stopped in the red zone. I say BC surrendered 0 pts vs WF. WF moved the ball all day long. Everyone acting like ND has some smashmouth fb because it stopped one the nations worst teams by 3 scores, including a defensive score and a 98 yard 1 play gain.
ND has no right to be top 4. Im not even convinced top 10.
But you see, they aren't in the top 4 simply because they beat Wake Forest. They are in the Top 4 because they have earned it based on the entirety of their season thus far, which has been highly successful against one of the tougher schedules in the country.
And for all of those looking to discount the 98 yard TD run: each and every play counts, so get out of here with all of the "if you take the 98 yard run out" crap. It wasn't a play where lightning struck the field and only the defenders were knocked down. It was a great play. Josh Adams earned those yards. You could make an argument that the Trumbetti play was just dumb luck for us, but the Adams run was nothing more than everyone doing their job, and the better talent clearly showing through.
Did anyone else love the moment where Kizer lowered his shoulder and smashed their DB on his way to first down?
