Oregon is among the last teams I ever want to see ND play. ND against mobile QBs worries me.

Wow... I just realized they gave FSU credit for an interception on that last play?

Not that it had any impact, but that's some absolute horseshit... he caught the ball a full step out of bounds. What were these refs smoking???

Didn't realize it until I saw an ESPN video talking about Golson's "two costly turnovers"... what a joke. Had zero impact on the game.

Also, hilarious to see ESPN announcers talking about FSU DBs "callign for the penalty." They literally did not complain at all to the refs. It was a coverage bust. They were complaining to each other about who was supposed to take who.

Unreal.

Get off your high horse, when you treat other people like shit because they disagree with you and call them whiners because they disagree with you, then you look bad not them. You are reacting just as emotionally (if not more so, and getting personal about it) as them by calling them whiners but you can not see it.

Ok. Maybe the whiner thing was harsh. But I never specifically called anyone a whiner, I said, "Hardly ever called" is for whiners. If it is a foul, and you get caught, you got caught.

And I stand by that. You cannot complain that you got hosed because some foul is "hardly ever called". Try going to court and telling a judge, "I know that I was speeding, your Honor, but I am getting jacked up because the police hardly ever write tickets for that." If you did the crime, then you have to accept the punishment if you get caught.

OL- pretty good game. I was worried...they performed better. EG still took some shots...

DL- pretty good game. Was never really worried about them

Dbacks - meh, couple clear busted coverages...little bit on their heels...I thought there were some balls dbacks could break on...but just didn't, or couldn't because of big cushion too late in the route. Tackling...better than last week...although not perfect.

Receivers - pretty good game. Thought they were effective.

QB - Pretty good game. Made some nifty throws. Still seems to be exaggerating eyes down the field...ie RUN when its there my man.

Running game was there again...

I think Winston is a great athlete...but certainly beatable. I'll leave it at that.

The Pick play....My opinion...definitely a reasonable call. Again My Opinion...Refs will not call a pick play on a receiver who has his eyes to the qb and his back to the defender he is supposedly picking, nor will it be called if the receiver is sitting down in a route in the path of the defender so long as his eyes are on the QB...Both CJ and Fuller had eyes on defenders, and were in contact with them.

First, I gotta address this...ESPN brought in an expert ref during sports center to "explain" the call. If you saw that...try to forget it. His explanation of the timing of offensive and defensive interference is a red herring...his statement was true but not how this gets called, so he can kiss my ass with that "officious" shit.

Second, I know BK won't say he coaches up a pick play...fine...I can, and I do...:).

Now...If that play was designed to go to Robinson from the get go...CJ and Fuller did fine at the start of the route. However, an experienced receiver in CJ's spot disengages after his guy jams him, and goes to the speed out and drifts down field a little, sits down in the defenders path to Robinson...while looking back at E.G. The defenders decision took him out of the play to the flat 90% of the time with a good throw, so really I don't think CJ needed to do anything there. Fuller sold the slant, and it looks like he let the defender win/keep the inside position...all he needed to do was pull out of the slant and sit down and turn back and put his eyes on E.G. His guy(s) can't get there. Both Fuller and CJ got it wrong at the tail end IMHO...ASSUMING the play design was what it appeared to be...A designed pick. Again if you cross the receiver who catches the ball, and you are staring at the defender and have hands on him...you might get called for a pick.

In the end young receivers will make little mistakes...at least they were aggressive! Almost worked.

Now every time we run that play for the rest of the season and don't get a penalty I am just gonna get even more mad about this.

Like who?

Enrico, Wild Bill, and Whiskey for sure, and your response to Redbar was very combative.

You don't need to attack people as whiners when they disagree on a controversial call from you, and yet you do over and over. The truth is that it might have been PI on Fuller but it is definitely questionable (I think he probably did commit it but I don't think that ever gets called in that situation again) and people are allowed to have a different opinion from you without you attacking them personally. You talk about "wanting to bring a higher standard to this board" but personally attacking people who disagree with you is not the way to do it.

It did work....... on Robinson's first TD.

What about calling people "elitist pricks" was that harsh? My point is this, all anyone is talking about with regard to that game is "the call", it is the "story" of the game. It is natural for people to disagree whether it was a penalty or whether it should have been called, particularly Notre Dame fans, right after the game. To immediately start coaching other adults on the proper reaction especially when I don't think anyone is really flipping out seems a bit presumptuous. Especially given that you don't know many of us, know nothing of our personal character, our convictions, the standards we hold ourselves to etc...etc...etc... Like I said it wasn't the worst called game I have ever seen, but the officiating is the story of the game, they made sure of it. We are not whiners or elitist pricks for talking about it.

I would call it a promise (don't want to speak for Pham, just what I have witnessed here). Also you have long since moved past sticking up for your opinion to insulting another member and calling him a liar.

It did work....... on Robinson's first TD.

Yea...I meant that particular play it almost worked...

again, you MIGHT get called for OPI doing what ND receivers did on the one that was called. OR you might not...which was the case (I guess) on the first TD.

The difference I saw was the first one was contested...which helps the no-call...

Last thing from me: why did Koyack just stop at the 10 yard line on the last play? If he had cut his route to the middle he could have walked into the endzone if Golson saw him.

(sorry Pham, last post)

I don't care at all about him calling me a liar. I'm much more offended by the initial question. It offends logic to think you had play football to properly weigh in on a penalty.

The "elitist pricks" comment was a response to someone calling me a dick. How come you aren't chastising THAT comment?

I have a good friend who officiates JuCo in California. He is my go-to guy, when it comes to questionable calls. I'm sure he knows that he will be getting a call from me, tomorrow, asking him to explain the rule to me in detail.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

This goes right up there with Hawks Kings game 7 last year and the Bush push game as the most devastating sporting events I've ever watched. Such high highs and such a sudden and devastating end. Fuck.. Optimistic as hell about this team, but fuck fuck fuck.
