It's amazing how "non-partisan" pro-(D)emocracy groups like Meidas Touch and the Lincoln Project are rooting for Trump to win the GOP nomination. So much for caring about "Democracy", right?

They want trump to win? Ok I guess that just means that Dems will win again. I agree The Lincoln project is a straight grift. I’m pro little d democracy. I don’t want any gop winning at this point. Lol. The party is insane atm

I mean I hear you and I agree most everyone is well aware of what TikTok is and that it’s spyware but what does that mean relative to say all the other apps that monitor and report your behaviors? I mean even retailers have cameras that have AI that track your behavior in a store and document and compile how long you spend in a section , what is that section, how did you get there what other sections did you stop at before etc. obviously all the algorithms are designed to understand who you are and what you like. That’s what was up with the Facebook micro targeted ads I. 2016 for the Trump campaign which also was provided to Russian hacking groups. That how they knew who to target with specific ads to reinforce or flip votes against a Hilary.

I guess I’m not totally sure TikTok is alone here. People everywhere pay a lot of money for access to your data, behavior, and trends. It’s how they all the apps and data collection people make money and you can’t opt out it it is basically in the terms of agreement when you use it. The only way to not be tracked or monitored is to not use it. Is this a first amendment issue? To me the real violation of my rights is the constant tracking of my personal conscious and unconscious behaviors.
I remember reading about how much worse Tik Tok was in comparison to other apps in terms of the volume of data it was mining back when the military banned it. Also the fact that it’s owned by an adversarial foreign nation makes it worse imo. I assume Facebook/Google/Twitter/etc are mostly using the data just to monetize their users. Who knows what China wants to do with it.

You’re correct on your larger point though. Our digital footprints are something that has just become commonplace to give away. No one even thinks twice about. If they knew how much their data was worth they probably would care more.

One of Andrew Yang’s policies in 2020 that really made me like him was his Data Dividend Project proposal. Basically make data private property and allow citizens to get a portion of the money companies make off of it.

What are you talking about lol. Drag isn’t a bizarre sexual behavior. Lmaoooooo it’s entertainment. I guess I may be a bit jaded. I’ve gone to Savannah numerous time to see Lady Chablis. Do you love the first amendment? Is it eternal? Immutable?
While the First Amendment does not protect obscenity, its interpretation and application have evolved over time. The question remains as to whether or not certain behaviors should be protected under the guise of free speech. Sure, some people may argue this filth should be protected, but the overwhelming majority of fathers would find it reprehensible and would vehemently oppose their children being exposed to it. To hell with the majority, though.

A sane man, especially a father, sees this and experiences involuntary physical reactions - cringing, looking away, feeling uneasy in the stomach, or all the above. These reactions are deeply ingrained in our nature and no amount of cultural conditioning can erase them entirely. The only recourse for those in power is to threaten the livelihoods of men who dare to voice their dissent, and unfortunately, this works very well. So for now, many of us bite our lip and focus on protecting our own children while regrettably, children without such fortunate protection will continue to suffer.

Yeah, Rick Wilson was interviewed and he said that he wants Trump to be the nominee.

The Lincoln Project is a Super PAC. Why are people surprised when they act like a Super PAC?

Just give your kids the "say no homo" speech and they'll be protected against the evils of homosexuality.

You hope someone that denies that he lost the 2020 election and encouraged a coup attempt becomes president again? Tell me you support fascism without telling me you support fascism.
If the people who claim to be terrified of him actively campaign on his behalf, then yes. That would make them the supporters of fascism. Not me.

a Trump primary win =/= a Dem win in 2024. It makes a Dem win more likely, but far from certain. I would think someone who thinks Donald Trump is some existential threat to the country would want jvirtually anyone else to secure the nomination.

Have you listened to what get said at CPACs and who says it? There is a lot of intermingling of conservatives and fascists at their events.
What fascists are speaking there? And no, I don't listen to CPAC stuff. I have better things to do with my time. Like post on IE.

Then you should listen and decide for yourself. I believe there are a lot of mainstream republicans taking part and more than a few fascists (Viktor Orban spoke at CPAC Texas) taking part as well.

That slapdick received multiple standing ovations. I wouldn't want someone like him on my city council as the one "no" vote out of five let alone applaud his ideals.
