Don't forget he gives zero fucks about using a drone.
I think his drone program is absolutely disgraceful. I'm with you on that.

So let me get this straight.
You mean to tell me, that the R's in 2008 were the first group to lose an election and to strategize on how they will win the next election?
Plus, at that point, the Dems controlled the house and had either 59 or 60 senate seats, depending on the time period you are looking at. The R's could object all they wanted to in the house, nothing would matter. In the senate, there was only one R needed. One.
So, you can blame everything on that one night they all met to plot revenge, but the fact of the matter is Obama really didn't need any of them. Instead, he used his political capital on the stimulus and health care. From then on, the voters reacted in the house and senate.
Was he? The night of his innaguration, a group of GOP leaders met to plan his failure through obstruction. That is hardly a rational approach to government, but it is the path that the GOP has chosen. You can call it a lack of leadership on Obama's part if it makes you feel better, but facts demonstrate something else. The Democratic Party is doing just fine, as they will show when Hillary becomes the next president of a united party. Meanwhile, the GOP will continue to eat its own and push forward in utter disarray.
I promised myself I would not post in thus thread anymore. I failed. I don't know how you do it.

If you are going to do it, do like ACamp does. Come in, drop a grenade and run away until the schrapnel stops flying. lol.
That meeting wasn't just about strategies to win the next election -- it was about hurting the new president, embarassing him, making sure he got nothing accomplished. It was the beginning of the liberal and devisive use of the fillibuster to grind everything to a halt, and then to blame the president for being a do nothing stuffed suit that was all talk and no action. It was mean spirited and bad for the country. And yes, he used his political capital on the stimulus and health care because this nation was ravaged by the biggest economic disaster since the Great Depression and people were hurting. It would have been irresponsible not to focus on the here and now at the time. But, of course, we can look back now that the economy has improved in dramatic fashion and act as if he had a choice but to try to do something to breath life into the economy.
Seriously? Do you remember guys named Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz standing to filibuster John Brennan's CIA nomination due to his position that drones could be used on US citizens deemed "enemy combatants"? Aren't those guys the tea-baggiest of tea-baggers that you hate so much? The looney "right wing extremists" who do nothing but obstruct? It seems like you actually agree with them and should be HAPPY at their attempt to obstruct because the thing they were obstructing was the trampling of the Constitution.
So let me get this straight. Please don't conflate politics with our aerial superiority and the interpretation of the Patriot Act. Any one of those fools would use the Drone in a similar manner.
So let me get this straight.
- Establishment Republicans admit they love drones.
- Democrats say they hate drones and mean it, even when they use them.
- Tea Party Republicans say they hate drones but they're liars.
Did I misstate your position?
Neg rep me if I post in that thread again (Just Curious thread). I hate that thread.
Yes you did. We have the drone. Anyone in office with the power to use it will use. So Far. What you elaborate above is just politics.
The guys I listed would use drones, I don't doubt that. I do not believe they would use them on American citizens. If nothing else, those guys are principled constitutionalists.Yes you did. My man Cack sent me this...

What's the point then? Why vote or pay attention or care if you literally have zero representation in which you feel confident?
So let me get this straight.....
We CAN use drones on US citizens deemed "enemy combatants" but we can't deem a terrorist sitting in Gitmo an "enemy combatant" and should give them jury trials?
Makes perfect sense to me.
The thread is a mini example of whats going on in DC.... nothing productive. 282 pages where I doubt one of the posters has said since their first post in this thread "Hmm, that guy is right, I agree with his point of view now". This is a peter pull to the T.![]()
Seriously wizards. Do not take me seriously. I am extremely disenchanted with our so-called democracy. Until people realize that we live in a quasi-fascist state controlled by the uber rich and they can buy politicians of any ilk, there will be little to no change whatsoever.

I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.
I also Hail from the home of "Leave me the Fuck Alone" and my vote has not mattered ever.
That's it bro. He went in all gangbusters and has acted like a center right Republican since having to deal with the stimulus. And it continues. He has doubled down on Bush era policies ......
You sonofa...
