He can also make Bernie Sanders look like a centrist at times, there is that...

Since the whole "right, center, left" political matrix is a reference to the seating conventions of the first National Assembly after the French Revolution, he'd probably take that as a compliment.

He was an ardent Marxist many years ago. Now he's just a brilliant Catholic philosopher.

Wasn't meant as an attack or compliment to be clear, just me shooting out my thoughts...

Bingo... Can't remember much of it, and it was too heavy, but it did help to mature/clarify my views on Marxism, and to an extent Socialism. i was much much smarter back then.

No worries...he'll OD at some point.

Hopefully sooner than later.

Nice comment. Still if this implies posters here will no longer post messages that insult others because a comedian makes a remark that they feel is offensive, good on ya.

The OD comment was unnecessary, but the little SNL turd's mockery was WAAAAAY over the line and unacceptable. It's this sort of stuff that has driven much of Middle America running from the Left.

I'd argue that the celebrity endorsements actually hurt the Left. Those who are already going to vote Dem no matter what cheer the latest celebrity for telling them what they want to hear, but Middle America is generally repelled by someone who's disattached from the average person's reality and from having to deal with the consequences of the policies or candidates they endorse. Most people don't particularly enjoy being lectured by spoiled celebs who live in an unrealistic bubble. Seriously, no average American has ever thought, "Wow, I had no idea what to think or who to vote for until Taylor Swift and George Clooney came out for this candidate and told me to support this cause."

Here in Iowa, it's already started. California Democrats don't like hanging out in Iowa.... unless it's for a reason.

A buddy shared a breakdown of that with me today, he’s our lone right winger so I’m the only one he can really talk to... Michael Knowles got suspended from Twitter for joking about democrats going out and voting on the 7th... there are dozens of examples of left leaning pundits doing the exact same without getting suspended and then there’s stuff like Farrahkahn.

If ever there was case for drone strikes on American citizens...

Like you said earlier in one of the threads about being a lost middle of the road guy, turning to the right.... there are so many like that out there. in my 25+ years voting, I've voted for several dems and independents. The way things have developed, I'm not sure I can ever vote anything but straight ticket until the left can find some sanity. If I still lived in Indy, and if the left wasn't so far left, I'd probably consider voting for Donnelly. Not now. My mother likes Donnelly as well, but she even commented that she will do nothing to help those "crazy people".... and she was a lifelong straight ticket dem voter until 2016.

Farakhan is at least honest about his views. I'm sure many public figures agree with his enlightened views but their pay masters keep them in line. Let him attack the power structure. Our federal government has more than earned the political dissidents, whether I agree with them or not.

What would Trump do for the other 18 months between elections?

Put policies in place to stimulate our economy and produce GDP we never saw under Obama

Build the wall/ protect our border

North Korea

Nominate conservative SCOTUS judges

And if he has time I really want to see him reform healthcare, eliminate the Fed Dept of Education, and allow younger people like myself to opt out of Social Security
