Just saw a vid from earlier where they were getting ready to remove barriers in CHOP. Some protesters were lying down in front of the heavy machinery waiting to pick up the barriers lol...
What we believe - and KNOW - is that the cities where most of these problems occur are overwhelmingly controlled by Dems, and have been for decades. The mayors, council members, school boards, police chiefs, and etc. are Dems. You complain that they can't fire bad cops due to the police unions, but it's Dem politicians who've protected the police unions in exchange for campaign contributions. That's what we mean by being in lockstep. Your party has controlled those cities for decades. You've allowed the unions to protect the bad cops. The majority of those Dem run cities are corrupt as hell. Now you complain about the results. Here's how the rest of us feel about it: you made your bed... go lie in it. At least be honest enough and have enough character to admit it, then MAYBE you can start fixing the disasters you created.
These “protesters” have come off as a bunch of spineless spoiled brats. At the first sight of someone standing up their their bullying mob, they run away & scream for the police. Where do they grow these people?

To any of our Dem or Leftist brothers who don't understand why we don't cave to Newspeak and Newthink, and think a Dem run country with Pelosi, Hillary, AOC, Biden, and the rest of the gang in charge is a bad idea, look at your Dem run cities. The majority of them are drug and crime infested shitholes with murder rates that rival third world hellholes, and schools that nobody would want to put their child in. They're corrupt from top to bottom. Many areas of them look like Berlin c. 1945 after the Soviet Army rolled through. Their downtown areas and parks are overrun with homeless people shooting up and shitting on the sidewalks. When rioting broke out recently due to problems of their own making, they froze and feared to act, failing to perform the most basic role of government - protect its citizens - and left their hard working people completely unprotected from the violent mobs. Dem controlled cities are a never-ending disaster area of crime, violence, poverty, job loss, hopelessness, rotten schools, and corruption. If that's what you do to cities you run, how much worse would it be if you ran the entire country? THAT'S why we don't want any part of you in charge of anything!

One these names isn't like the rest....
Anyways, a lot of progressives are with you on getting rid of the old school Dems who do performative actions instead of instituting real change. Get rid of the Pelosi and Biden's of the world.
Well thankfully we are seeing what progressive cities and leadership look like on the news every night. Weak, pandering losers letting lawlessness and crime run wild. If you consider that real change I’m certainly glad you don’t vote here. Another one who has no idea what life is like on the streets.
This is a bit lazy. You're really going to lay all that on white flight?
First, it doesn't address how automobiles, highways, house manufacturing (subdivisions), increased population, etc. enabled, and to an extent instigated sprawl.
Second, when white people move out, it's bad and labeled white flight. When white people move in, it's bad and labeled gentrification. Seems like it's bad regardless of where white people move?
Third, "white flight" is also credited with increased home ownership by minorities.
And forth, and to circle back to the topics of Dems, how many elitist progressives live in gated communities, gentrified neighborhoods, suburbs, have second houses, etc. vs living in the areas Bishop described? Must have Starbucks and soy!

And she certainly isn't like the others, who caused the problems, but her ideas are even worse. We've seen them fail around the world for decades. We're seeing them in action now as anarchy and chaos and violence and destruction. The others are old farts manipulating and exploiting the masses for their own gain. She's an adolescent throwing a temper tantrum and demanding something ridiculous and unworkable. We reject both disastrous approaches. They're not the only options.
Bishop unleashed. Police oversight and accountability solutions and the obstacles to achieving those have been discussed for at least a decade spanning politics or geography. While Dem influence is increasing in the South, SW, Rocky Mtns, and Midwest, I have not seen the pervasive control of those governments by Dems that you do. Certainly Chicago fits your profile though where the police have had a powerful political influence and where they have had more than one Laquan McDonald murdered. Richard Daley and his police were in lockstep.
Politicians will court the powerful police unions as in NYC. Prior to deBlasio, NYC had twenty years of Republican Mayors - eight of Giuliani and twelve of Michael Bloomberg. The union has blasted Bloomberg over his apology for the "stop and frisk" policy. Are such alignments corrupt as hell? The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the country's largest law enforcement union with more than 330,000 members endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2016. I'm sure they will again. The International Union of Police Associations already endorsed President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. The FOP is increasing its lobbying to counteract reforms. Their last lobbying surge was in 2014, when it was initially unsuccessful in arguing that a Pentagon program that provided surplus military gear to the police should be continued. A year after Trump was elected, he reversed all conditions for police to receive military gear which include such items as armored vehicles, assault rifles, grenades and something called a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle (MRAP).
So when you say "It's Dem politicians who've protected the police unions in exchange for campaign contributions", are you now a bit concerned that those union contributions and endorsements have and will lead to that protection against police accountability by Trump?
At this point, we are having serious discussion in many American cities about police use of excessive force, solutions and the dismissals, arrests and charges of policemen throughout the nation. But when you say "you can start fixing the disasters you created", you seem to me to be implying any of those "fixes" would come in a city where the Dems control the government -- at the detriment of receiving political contributions from the powerful police unions.

She will literally never ever get 100% of her policies through and be popularized in the US. Shes stated that her views like up closer to some of the Norwegian countries. The logical progression for the party if they keep playing ball with the AOC types of the party is a push towards a style like Lib party of Canada. Spoiler: Nothing materially changes with them in charge, they're weak kneed and do some performative shit but will never change the tax policy too much.
I'm sure you have similar views about the freedom caucus, right? Those guys are always reasonable and never sound like a bunch of babies?? We can paint any politician on any side as whiney or a baby who we don't like. Point is, if you have faith in your institutions and have faith that country won't turn into some USSR/Venezuela type wasteland, you'll be ok.

Sharon Fairley remembers how she felt when she first saw the dash cam video of the Chicago police shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. “Shock and concern,” she says. “It’s just heartbreaking to watch that kind of violence being done to a person.”
Fairley, a former federal prosecutor, knew police work could be tough. She also knew that video could be misleading. But what this video showed was genuinely shocking. Police cars converge on a young man walking erratically down the middle of a street in an industrial neighborhood at night. Two officers jump out of a marked SUV. Seconds later, Officer Jason Van Dyke, who is white, empties his 16-bullet clip into McDonald, who is African-American. Van Dyke’s partner then walks over and kicks a 3-inch knife from the hand of the motionless teen.
Officers at the scene said that McDonald had turned threateningly toward Van Dyke with the knife. The video told a different story. The shooting occurred in October 2014, but Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office took no public actions against the police department. Nor did the city release the video. Seven months later, a local journalist filed a Freedom of Information Act request for the video. Hours before its release, prosecutors arrested Van Dyke and charged him with first-degree murder. The Brevard County FOP does not represent our agency and certainly does not reflect our views. What was put into that post was disgusting, despicable and quite frankly not in the consideration of all that has happened in our country right now. I’m embarrassed by it."
Ivey announced six days later that Gamin had resigned from the Brevard Sheriff's Dept. Gamin had been informed that he would be fired.“The documentation on his personal file that was most concerning, was from an incident involving an alleged racial overtones that occurred almost eight years before I became sheriff that happened 15 years ago. The statements were directed to one of his subordinates at the time and they were disrespectful and unprofessional to say the least.”
On June 6th in FB Brevard County F.O.P. President Lt Bert Gamin posted:
Two days after the recruitment call out to those officers who had been disciplined or jailed, Gamin, was suspended with pay. He apologized, after initially defending the comment. In a statement issued Tuesday, Gamin said the post was "in poor taste and did not reflect the sentiment that I was trying to convey, nor that of the FOP. "For that, I humbly apologize to all of you."
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said,
An internal investigation determined that Gamin had had corrective action regarding statements and comments he has made in the past regarding union and political views.
Ivey announced six days later that Gamin had resigned from the Brevard Sheriff's Dept. Gamin had been informed that he would be fired.
The 57 officers resigned from the emergency unit but not from the force. The Buffalo mayor's office told CNN that the 57 members that resigned from the unit make up the entire active emergency response team.
