I totally had a silhouette of Articuno 3 steps away on the way to work and walked in a couple different directions but could not find it. I am going back at lunch.

I found this on /r/pokemongo and it has helped me out. When you click on the box with silhouettes and select the pokemon you want watch the box as you walk around, it will pulse as you are heading in the right direction.

I didn't think there was a "right direction" except in cases of water-specific pokemon.

I thought you just clicked on the Pokemon you were after to get the circle around them, and walking the appropriate distance in any direction would suffice. Or did I just get lucky when I found my LEGENDARY BIRD (a crappy Fearow) last night?

Lmao, I guess my crappy cell signal, combined with my wifi trying to pin-point my location despite not being outside, resulted in a Magikarp from the lake next to my building showing up on my desk.

Now I just gotta catch a bunch more Magikarp, encourage karp-cannibalism, and take over my campus gym with a Gyarados.

How strong is strong enough for gym battles? My top 'mons are a 109 Pidgeotto, 76 Bellsprout, and 69 Psyduck.

No idea, I only have my Charmander, a Spearow, a Fearow, and now a Magikarp.

I haven't had the chance to stop at a gym's location and see what it's all about. I'm not even level 5 yet, so I couldn't anyway.

I was beating a +200 lvl Seaking with my lvl 120 Drowzie pretty easily. But right when the match timer went to zero the game crashed and nothing happened. I had to force quit. So I guess the combat isnt that tough? Thats my only battle so far. I ll have to try again at lunch time.

No you have to go in the right direction. That's what the feet are for. As you're getting closer there will he less footprints, but if you go the wrong direction it can go from 1 or 2 prints back up to 2 or 3.

So I see little radar blip looking things... what are those? No matter how close I get they don't seem to turn into pokemon.

Is the "rustling grass" the only thing to look for? I seem to kind of suck at finding stuff.

Not as bad clearly, and she was texting. She did however, attempt to sue the mall for having a fountain there. Could see a family suing the makers of the game if something happens.

How long until someone gets hit by a car or falls off a cliff playing this game?

I've only played this for a minute or so, but it appears that once you are in range of a monster (i.e. the only time you would be looking at your phone consistently), the need to move forward is no longer present. I don't think you have to keep walking to keep up with it or anything. So really the only thing that will be on the screen at the time people are walking around will be a GPS type layout which is pretty commonly used in big cities nowadays.

A bigger potential annoyance I would see would be a person randomly stopping in the middle of a crowded street corner or subway station because their phone just told them a Squircharichu was nearby.

I caught the Nidorino in the wild. The Pidgeotto I evolved from Pidgey. I evolved the Golbat from a Zubat. I literally have too many Zubats flying around.

I transfer every single duplicate.

On my way over to Chipotle I tried to use radar and stuff like that and didn't find a single Pokemon. On the way back, I walked aimlessly down the main street and found a dozen Pokemon.

So is the game about wandering and hoping for the best? Also, does incubating work while driving?

Makes sense, it explicitly says "walking" so I imagined it worked like a fitbit or measured movement below a certain rate of speed.

There is a speed threshold. I think someone on reddit said 20mph anything over that and it doesn't register for egg hatching.
