We need to be ranked as high as possible to have a shot at orange bowl so worst case scenario is wiscy winning this game and somehow beating osu, leaving four teams from the BIG ranked ahead of ND.

Minnesota win today, Michigan loss today, osu running table should leave only osu and psu ranked ahead of ND.

Jack Seiler, 85’ ND alum and current First Vice Chair of Orange Bowl, basically said that ND needs to get into the top 12 and have no other ACC teams ranked to get into the Orange Bowl. Note he’s an alum but he goes on to talk about the significant draw ND has in Bowl games. Let’s hope we can get there.

Seems very possible. VA tech should be out. Virginia, even if they're in now, will be out after Clemson pounds them. Bama has to beat auburn and Utah has to beat Oregon.

For more things have to fall ND way but the path is realistic imo.

Can you imagine the bitching we'd hear if ND somehow back doors their way into the orange bowl?

I can't find anything to hate about this guy. Hope his buyout is too much for SC to come calling.

Yeah his team is getting jail sexed at home. I don’t understand how people were actually picking Minn to win today. The whole gameday crew picked minn. I actually put real U.S. dollars on Wisconsin to cover $$$

Man, he had me rowing the boat this morning. Wisconsin punched them in the mouth, though. I sold my Fleck stock LOL.

In the Orange Bowl’s ACC slot? Or its at large? Yeah, assuming Va. gets walloped by a Clemson they won’t be ranked.
And we should jump Michigan and, I’d think now, Minnesota. That gets us to 14th. Auburn winning doesn’t make it easier. But we could still jump Wisconsin after they get demolished by OSU again, and Oregon if they lose to Utah, and/or Baylor if they lose to Oklahoma.

Why should we jump Michigan?

They literally clowned ND on national tv in primetime.

I can't believe you guys are seriously bagging on Fleck. Winning in Minny with that talent and in 2 years is ridiculous.

I don’t think people are bagging on him per se. Maybe just pumping the brakes on the hype train. In retrospect it seems like the Penn State game was a bit of a fluke. I mean Minnesota squeaked by Fresno State, San Diego State and Georgia Southern to begin the season. They then beat a bunch of crappy big ten teams, catch Penn State napping, then loose to Iowa and get housed by Wisconsin.

It was a nice underdog story and it will be interesting to see if the success can be sustained.

Because they now have three loses...two of them of the blowout variety.

ND has two losses...one was a blowout.

By that 3 loss team... Transitive doesn't work here because, you know, we got jail sexed by that 3 loss team.

One game does not make a season. Fair weather on a neutral site I think we take Michigan today. Play calling was garbage that game, and we struggled getting the ball to our play makers that weren't banged up. Once guys got healthy and play calling improved, we seemed to turn the corner.

I can't believe people actually thought Flecko and Minnesota would beat Wisconsin. I think ND will have a tough time with them the next 2 years.

Let's see if Flecko can repeat and have 10 wins next year...he and ND; never gonna happen!

Getting beat at home as they did should drop them behind us. Especially dropping two in a row.

Somehow I think he's going to move on from Minnesota at some point. Just a matter of timing.

I'm rooting for him. He's the Midwestern Ed Orgeron.

So does Fleck move on this year?

I think Fleck stays until he can get one of:

Michigan
ND ----------- Not gonna happen, right?
OSU ---------- Prolly a looong wait
Wiscy --------- Prolly another long wait

MSU ???

Just don't see him leaving the safety of the Midwest. I don't even think PSU would be a possibility.

That said, he'll be SC's next HC.

I can't imagine a Minnesota coach leaving for Wisconsin. Rivalry situation. Then again, PJ do what PJ does.

Let's say Nebraska falters next year and Frost is out, would Fleck be a good fit there?

I could in a heartbeat. Wiscy's program is in much better shape and has a proven track record.

Marginally better, will still never compete for a NC. And he'd have to lock in for ~3 more years, no thanks if I'm him.

He's going to get a monster job. He has to wait ~6-12 more months.
