Took the quad out yesterday. Went to Boulders OHV area and had it all to myself basically. Today, every part of my body hurts.

I went out in the backyard today to water the garden... it’s been hot so I water my pumpkins a bit more than usual... after a while I felt all ‘hills have eyes’ish... no idea how you people leave civilization for more than ten minutes without being eaten..........

I'm not an avid fisher but have fished lakes and ponds my whole life. Primarily bass, some walleye and Northern, and pan-fishing if I'm taking my little sister/significant other.

I've never fished a river, and our new home is 4 miles from trails that access the crow river. I ordered some waders yesterday and am looking forward to giving it a shot this weekend. Any advice for river fishing? Looking for small mouth, maybe some walleye/pike if I'm lucky.

I'm also ~15 minutes away from access to the Mississippi, but going to get familiar on the smaller crow river first. Trying to understand where to go on the Mississippi is intimidating.

Well, if you're taking your little sister/significant other ... I believe I've read the proper term in Mississippi is ... cousin.

Any mountain bikers on this forum? I'm looking into purchasing my first bike, there are more trails near me than I realized and I need a good outdoor activity.

interestingly enough, into doing the same.

I'll be back in town in September (for bowhunting!) but would like to get a mtn bike too-looking at a Giant Trance 2, a full suspension bike. Interested in anyone else's thoughts on a first time bike.

Great minds Latin Dude

It's the happiest day of the year: "Open the camper to air it out and burn all the fallen branches in the back yard day."

The only thing missing is baseball on the radio but the Sox are in Seattle.

I will, it's just a tradition my dad got me hooked on. Yardwork should always be done with the car windows rolled down and the baseball game on loud.

I dig it. I wanted to get some yard work done today. Been raining all day and now it's full blown snowing

That time of the year to revive.

Reviewing this thread-I noticed my interest in a mountain bike. I ended up getting a Trek Fuel 8 with 29 wheels. Been riding for about 2 years and finally went to a downhill bike park yesterday-what a blast!

Headed to NE again in a few weeks. A combo bow/rifle hunt on the farm. Potentially a Rosebud mulie hunt-fingers crossed.

2 for the buck at 330 and took several to hit the 1700. My data ended at 1200 and had to build up.

A good hunt

Got back into town late Friday and am catching up. Great whitetail Fbolt!

Spotted a big one chasing a doe at about 800 yards. Closed the distance and waited patiently in the snow for about 3 hours. Never saw him again. Managed to get a decent mule buck so I am happy to have some meat in the freezer.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Nice, mulies are something I'm looking to get after but never had the chance. May do a combo mule/elk combo next year with an outfitter.

If you're looking for a guided combo hunt, there are some great "Covid" deals to be had in Canada. A friend of mine did a combo Dall sheep/moose hunt in the Yukon and go some crankers. He then booked a bighorn sheep hunt in the Willmore (Alberta) and got a great bighorn sheep. Figured he saved about 50%.

Obviously, the American hunters are not coming up and local outfitters are trying to survive. Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico have always intrigued me for big elk and a good hunting experience.

Wife has a cow elk tag and we hope to get that filled by Dec. 20th (end of the season for cows). Daughter got back from school in New York on Friday so she is isolating out at the ranch for 14 days. Damn kids!!

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Resurrecting this thread.

Just restrung my Mathews VXR 28 and went over everything. Put on a new slider sight and purchased some new Easton 5.0s-fletched them with mini DCAs. Need to dial this in and hit some 3D courses.

Tried to challenge myself hunting Gobblers on Public land. Epic fail. Everytime I showed up, 20 folks in the area. Every gobble I called up was from private land. Ugh....

Been hitting the Mtn Bike with the nicer weather.

Booked an overnighter rapids trip on the Gauley (or New River-can't recall) for mid-June. Looking at returning to New Zealand for Tahr and Stag.

Good times. You ever get down to Tennessee and want to raft/kayak the Ocoee, give me a shout.

What slider did you get? My first one was a redline. I was not impressed and almost switched back to a Fixed 3 pin. Then decided to buy a 3 pin axcel slider. It’s a night and day difference.
