No, Plummer lit us up that game after he came in for O’Connell who we were dominating. Plummer made it a game

The final score was 27-13. Purdue's only td in that game was a td pass by Plummer with 7:08 to go in the 3Q.

O'Connell relieved Plummer with 7 10 minutes to go in the 4Q.

Lit us up? LOL
He threw the ball 36 times for 187 yards.
That’s less than 5.2 yards per attempt, which is garbage.
And the TD they had was set up by a bad throw into double coverage that David Bell, who is a stud, went up and got inside the 5.

Plummer is a turnover machine.
This yr. thus far .... 65% completions 11 TD's 6 INT Sacked 9x
Career wise ............ 64% completions 58 TD's 25 INT Sacked 73x

Strange, I seem to recall that Purdue game being tense until David Bell went down with an injury (and all the Purdue people around me were calling for Kyle Hamilton to get thrown out of the game for that)

Yep, that definitely contributed as well. Clean hit by kyle though, unless ACC officials had been doing the game

You are correct. That was the game when ND said they couldn't bring their idiotic drum through our tunnel, so they left it outside in the parking lot, and people made way too big of a deal about it.

feel like this game is significantly more likely to play out like our nc state game than the Duke game. Louisville has scraped by 2 of the worst P5 teams and needed a late FG to beat nc state who we killed. Don’t get the line.

I've got a wedding for this one on Saturday night. I was really hoping for a noon kick.

Pour one out for the first person who makes a comment about me having my phone out at the reception.

Josh Pate on his show tonight picked Louisville to win on Saturday night.
Lots of folks thought Duke would be a trap game before the season. Of course it wasn’t after they knocked off Clemson, became ranked & had GameDay. Now, I think most fans are looking past Louisville b/c, on paper; “their D isn’t as good as Duke’s defense”. Hopefully ND takes them more seriously than fans do.

Whatever the ”narrative” is go w/ the opposite.

That was the game ND dropped 2, wide open, long TD passes.
Remember Lenzy running by himself into the EZ & the fans already celebrating & it hit both his hands in stride & he dropped it?
ND also dropped 2 INTs.
ND controlled the game & lead by 10 or more most the game, despite the drops.
I never thought ND was in doubt of losing.

EDIT:
Watch Lenzy at the 9:50 mark in the video. That’s so bad. LOL

they don't have a consistent football fan base, and their bball team stinks so their fan base in general isn't big into sports as much lately

It seats 60,500 and its attendance record is 58,187 - when Notre Dame was there in 2019. It will potentially be record setting attendance again but Louisville just doesn't fill their stadium.

We led by 10 or more for 9 minutes of the game, 6 of those were the last 6 minutes of the game after plummer went out.

I never felt like we were going to lose, but it was a 1 score game most of the game until Bell/Plummer went out.

They also only have zero wins this year to energize the fan base, regardless of their record. Clemson W was huge for Duke, Louisville has scraped by mediocre teams.

I actually watched this game the other day to watch a kid I know (on Purdue).

ND dropped 2 wide open TDs.
Doerer missed & short (30 yards) FG.
ND dropped 2 INTs.
Still won by 14.

If ND just catches 1 of the 2 dropped TDs, catches 1 of the two dropped INTs (which led to a Purdue FG), & makes their chip shot FG, it’s a 37-10 game.
You have to expect your guys to make 1 out of 2 easy plays? They missed on all 4.
But Davis did catch his bomb, of course, and scored.
Lenzy killed ND and Coan in that game.

In an overly simplistic way, our ease of success might (this year) be highly dependent upon the quality of the guy on defense overtop Correll. (moreso than any other opponent position.) That area cannot stand too much power bullrush without messing even Sam up, let alone the running game. I don't know how good the Louisville DTs are, but if they are as good as Duke's guy or OSUs several guys, well, the outcome becomes less easy all over the field. Last year we helped out with Patterson A LOT there, due, I think from my replays, because Patterson was so smart and good, and because Josh was so powerful that he could hold up without help. How are we going to effectively and consistently help Correll with Coogan and Spindler, when they themselves have their plates full? This is a test for this new OLine coach. I believe that Harry would fix this --- let's see if he does.
Elko definitely targeted Correll and had the horses to really disrupt the entire offense, penalties, pressure on up the gut Hart, negative plays and ND couldn't get Estime running downhill.

Clemson has some big boys in the middle, USC has that transfer, not sure about L'Ville

Obviously the quality of the DTs will matter but any D coordinator worth a shit is going to watch this Duke film and try to copy Duke's gameplan. If I'm prepping a defense for ND's offense, I would never let Correl snap the ball without a nose over the top of him, whether they're head on or a shade, even if that means adjusting my own scheme a bit. It's just too easy to push him back, it clearly gets into his head and it stops Estime from getting downhill.

Parker should expect it and adjust the run game a bit. Correll isn't going to practice his way into dominating a big bull rusher. I'm sure he'll work on it but he's not making significant strides week over week. Need to adjust the offensive scheme a bit to get our backs downhill faster. WAY too much delay and action in the backfield on run plays. If Parker doesn't want to adjust, Love should get more carries.

I would like ND to consider Schrauth at RG. ND needs more power on the interior.

I agree with you, we were clearly the better team and I felt we would always win, but I also wasn't completely comfortable because we could never pull away until the the last 6 minutes

They set their home attendance record when ND visited there in the opener. The thought going into this Saturday is that record would be broken.

I've watched way more Louisville than a sane person should have this year, mainly because they have had a random amount of week night games (3 out of 5). Anyway, what most people are saying about Louisville is accurate, but Jamari Thrash on offense is going to cause some headaches if he gets the ball in space combined with how ND's been tackling the last couple of games. Their RB isn't quite the level of OSU's, but is probably the best that ND will face this year besides them and Clemson's.

Their DL certainly isn't Duke quality let alone NCSU quality so the line should have a much improved performance. BC, IU, GT, and NCSU combined for over 1,000 yards in the air against them. Let Sam have a stat padder.

You’re correct about the skill players. Thrash is elite & UL was lucky to get him from Georgia State. Irish secondary will be tested deep often if Plummer gets enough time. Their RB is one of the best in the nation that you’ve never heard of. That rush end (Gilato?) has five sacks on the year so he’ll be a challenge for Alt/Fisher.
