Even if it is a horrible stadium if it's still the same Miami you still expect better..There is a lot of examples but Qulacomm stadium nearby is really bad but people still show up. But like someone said earlier there bandwagoners. It's not like there losing every game they have lost once. I guess the whole negativity toward the program is another reason.

It's not just the quality. Its the fact that the stadium is an hour away from campus, so the majority of students aren't going because tailgating is next to impossible, which for many is the attraction of home games (See: IU) Coupled with the fact that it is Miami and if the team aren't gangbusters they're not going to get much attention.

Source: talked to current student.

The Orange Bowl was torn down like 5 or 6 yrs ago. They play at Sun Life Stadium now (Dolphins Home) and it is a really nice stadium and some of th best tailgating....its really ashame the do not get a better turn out.

It's like 30 miles north of campus, in their defense. I went to some games in the Orange Bowl but I'd never go all the way to Pro Player.

I have been to both and beside the proximty to campus and the historic point Sun Life is a ton better than the Orange Bowl. The Orange Bowl was run down and in a really crappy neighborhood.

Parking was awful, too. I remember paying people to park in their yard. If you showed up first, you couldn't leave until the others cars left. But people still showed up at the Orange Bowl anyway. Never been to Sun Life, but I couldn't imagine it being a better colloge atmosphere than the Orange Bowl since it is so far from campus.

I always sort of enjoyed paying $10 to have G-Unit watch my car from his porch. They were always overly nice about it and watched it like a hawk. Entrepreneurial spirit at its finest. You'd have a dude with a tear tattoo in a florescent vest handing you bottled water and pretending like he's running the Hilton.

Many fans have been extremely angry at our AD and the school for de-emphasizing the football program. A lot are extremely fed up with the antics of the last ten years and pretty much refuse to put money into the team until the school shows it is serious about the program again.

Also SunLife stadium seats 75,000+ so it tends to look empty even 3/4 full. Not that it has been 3/4 full this season just an observation.

Not to mention our first home game was against Bethune Cookman after a horrible loss to K-State. The NC State game was a bit better in terms of fan turn out. Once the fans believe the team isn't pulling one over on them again you'll start to see the stadium fill up again.

As to the one person who said "84 yards rushing against NC State doesn't scream dominant line" - They were selling out against the run all day playing man coverage down the field and blitzing hard. However they were unable to create any pressure on the QB with those blitzes. Undoubted that you guys will be the toughest front seven we've faced so far and the game should go a long way towards finding out what both teams are made of.

Trust me when I say you guys will probably be able to score on us a good amount, but I expect we do our fair share of scoring as well. I expect a kind of 31-28 type of game. Obviously give or take on both sides. It's going to come down to which offense makes the most of their chances.

I know you guys held Michigan down....but in my opinion Michigan is a really really really overrated team offensively. They are a one trick pony and their passing game is terrible. The type of team that will look amazing against poor competition but melt under a strong defense (which you guys definitely have).

I'd say you guys will most likely win the game, but it could be huge trouble if they players overlook us in any way. Whoever wins the trenches will win the game, and your defense is certainly a lot stronger than ours. It's mostly made up of freshman and sophomore players who tend to have mental lapses. Especially in zone coverage...
I like this guy...Do you know Danny at canes time? He is my idle.

You know what excites me the most for this game? Besides the fact that this is a great matchup for football fans, this is BK's opportunity to win 5 straight games for the first time at ND. He has had a chance before and come up short. This is just another building block for greatness and he had a bye week to fine tune for this game. Things are set up for a great run this year and this will show us that not only can he get this team up for the big games but he can continue to keep this team battle ready!

I just want to see some kind of an offensive identity come to life during this game. Are we a two TE formation team mixing inside and outside runs with play action or a shotgun team using multiple recievers and the read option.

I wish we could be both but that isn't realistic. The mixing of those two styles so far appears to have the players confused about the gameplan and lacking of an identity to build around.

Would love to see the later with Brown split wide, Neal in the slot, Eifert at TE, and rotating the backs in.

Agreed. That would stretch the field and open up the read option but who ever is playing QB still has to see it and get the playmakers the ball. Execution execution execution.

It's tough cause I love how much better ball security has been this year because we haven't gotten risky with the play calling and Golson/Tommy have made much more conservative decisions.

I expect someone to bust out big soon whether it be Cierre, Golson or other I just don't know when which is frustrating. If I had to guess I would say Cierre based on his performance in games. It's time to make a him featured part of the gameplan again.

THIS in bold, but, I know we will face a team that will find a rhythm against our "D" and our "O" will be forced to win the game. Maybe Miami is that team, maybe not. Either way our "O" needs to be ready to put up points and they need to start calling the plays to do so with the players to do it.

The name of the game is execution, so this scenario would be rather catastrophic. If Neal or Brown were just plain better and more knowledgeable than their teammates, they'd certainly be in there.

That said, in theory this could be the lineup in 2013:

QB: Golson So
RB: Wood 5th / Atkinson JR / Carlisle SO
WR: Daniels So / Jones SR
WR: Brown SO
WR: Neal SO
TE: Eifert 5th / Niklas JR

Holy Touchdowns, Batman.

I guess it's too much to ask for people to be happy with the 4-0 start with a redshirt freshman quarterback going through a learning curve.

At the end of the day all I care about is the score on the scoreboard. We can have hopes and dreams about a dominant defense and a high powered offense.

I mean who wouldnt like to see 70 to 3 games week in and week out?

I like being 4-0. But look at the people on here that bash other schools and the outcomes of there games. Purdue hasn't played anyone yet so we will see how good they actually are. NOt saying everyone does but people do that here to you know.

Haha me if it equates to a NC!

I'll be the first to admit that I would be a lot less concerned offensively if ND had scored more than 20 points at least once over the past three games. Then at least I would know that they are capable of it against better competition. It's just the fact that it remains to be seen yet.

If you have twitter there were some interesting nuggets from BK's press conference.

The biggest one being that Chase Hounshell is done for the year due to a surgery. Interesting since he is on the two deep this week.

Edit: too slow
