Being at home and in this gameday thread reminded me of exactly why I don't normally sit in the gameday threads. haha

Good win, Irish.

My friend wanted to ask me to be in his wedding and he took two hours getting to the point. Everyone blaming it on Navy's blocking scheme I'm sure?

Freking Millennials... It's just a wedding. If he asked you to sleep with her beforehand I could understand.

Depends which Cat team shows up. The one that beat Wisconsin or the one that lost to Akron and Duke.

Akron.

I think they're definitely trending towards Wisconsin than Akron/Duke.

Shouldn't matter which Cat team shows up. This ND team has no business losing to Northwestern.

This could’ve been posted before the 2014 matchup. That didn’t end so well for ND.

How dirty would this team be with ND's offensive line from last year? This line ain't bad...but I miss watching Q making lesser men question their sexuality.

2014 team not remotely as talented top to bottom as this one. I mean hell, we had Cam McDaniel toting the rock FFS.

Wasn't that the season we ended up losing 4 of the last 5 games or some crap like that? Including Northwestern and Louisville.

Yes, the wheels came off in the 2nd half of the Navy game. ND blew the Louisville game on Senior Day. The NW team had a losing record and upset ND in OT.

Re-watching the start of the game. D gameplan early was great. Basically ran a 4-5 (maybe a 5-4, don’t know what to call it be we crowded the LOS) in the sense the S’s were completely playing run the whole time. Only a couple of yards off the LB’s and they (mainly Alohi) played downhill quickly. It was read and run. He’s really good/. Not sure it can’t be stated enough how much he’s impacted this team. Kelly called him a “run hit S” which seems simple or obvious. But it’s much more than that when we haven’t had many in a while

Not much of a shock but OL was good in the run game. A lot of movement up front. Playing against undersized guys probably helped but still good to see.

Book did some really nice things. His first down throw to Claypool from the far hash was a great read. Didn’t have it left, immediately went to the next read, rolled out and first down. Impressive arm strength on that pass.

Jafar gets upfield in a hurry. Because of injury I’m not sure he’s getting the attention he deserves. He’s good.

Pretty incredible instincts from the DL. The sack by Okwara was a split second decision on, he’s throwing and I’m going. Which is a huge considering Navy tries to convince you they’ll never do that.

Also if interest, we stood up all DE’s on most early drives. Even Kareem. Played well with his hands and stance, was prepared to make plays because of it.

Book threw some really underrated balls. The 4th and 3 to Finke in the 2nd was such a good ball. Really a good throw. Fast and accurate. Dexter is the best back (hence Kelly’s words) but Jafar is going to be good. Book missed him for a TD. And, every time he runs, he’s running hard. He just lacks the natural rb instincts Dexter has, because he hasn’t done it as much. But he’s going to be really good.

He should be in Koon’s bod squad!

Don't curse the poor boy. As good as Dexter is, look how long it's taken him to shake the Bod Squad curse.
