Will also be in attendance. Will also bring a six pack to an IE tailgate if it happens.

I helped coordinate the last one, I need someone else to put the show together since my attendance for this game hinges on whether or not my son's football team makes the playoffs or not  I'll be happy to attend if I do end up at this game though.

My buddy’s family has been season ticket holders to the Toledo Mud Hens forever. When he got married his wife called the Mud Hens and got Muddy the Mud Hen to show up at their reception. He went nuts 😂
When my sister in law got married to a MSU alum they had Sparty show up to the wedding reception like this. At one point a reveler dropped a glass that shattered on the dance floor and Sparty being the blue collar hero that he is cleaned up the mess with a mop and bucket lol

This is gonna be my first ND game ever. Do I need to get tickets now? Or can I get them a couple weeks before the game for the same price? Also I'm planning on driving out the morning of the game from PA and then staying at a hotel east of the stadium afterwards. How long does it take to see all the sites and any good hotel recommendations east of the stadium?

Ticket prices will fluctuate depending how both teams are doing leading up to the game. If possible come out a day early to check out the sites or plan on getting to campus very early to see all the sites, it is very busy on gamedays. If you go to the bookstore that could be an hour waiting in line to check out.

Where in PA? That could be cutting it close or you’ll be leaving at the butt crack of dawn.

It’s so odd when your kids grow up and start attending college. My daughter is a new freshman at NC State. She’s a hardcore ND fan obviously but is trying to support her own school too and is now buying us NC Stae apparel for gifts. I have tickets to this Thursdays NC State/ECU game but I think I’ll just wear a white shirt haha

My kids went to Purdue. When ND played in West Lafayette they would be in the student section wearing their ND gear.

Bookstore lines remind me of Chick-Fil-A. Incredibly long but they run those cash registers like the damn navy

DuBois PA and we'll be leaving by 7am at the latest. That should be good right?

I would really try to get there Friday. That’s going to be an afternoon kickoff so you really won’t have much extra time once you account for parking and walking etc
If you want to see “most” of the sites and a couple of traditions you need to be on campus at least by noon. You need to factor in up to half an hour to park and walk to the stadium.

If you want to roam the bookstore and potentially buy something, you need to arrive at least by 11.

I suppose you could cut back those times a bit if you don’t want to watch the guys warm up and planning on entering the stadium shortly before kickoff.

For the past 4 years and for the next two, I've been leaving central iowa (roughly the same hours away from that part in PA) after friday night high school football games. I'd usually stay in merrillville and arrive around 3:30 in the morning. Take a cat nap then head to south bend to tailgate.

I suggest leaving earlier and maybe finding a rest stop to take a couple hour nap, and show up a few hours before kick time.

lol. I never EVER go to the bookstore on game day or weekend. I always go during the week. Usually a Tuesday or Wednesday but I have the luxury of only being 2 hrs and 7 minutes away. 🤪

I always stop in Dubois when visiting my mother. I’m a big sucker for Sheetz and I love the one there right off 80. But I agree with everyone else, South Bend is about 11 hours from where I live and granted I burn a lot of time traveling I suggest getting there between 12pm-2pm on Saturday. The lines for the bookstore are tolerable, you can get the major sights out of the way without it being too crowded and you can see the band outside the Dome.

I haven’t been in the bookstore on game day for years. Wall to wall people doesn’t make it enjoyable in any way. However, it should be experienced by everyone at least once.

I echo what others have said. 7AM will still be cutting it close when you consider possible traffic on the way, traffic in South Bend once you arrive, pit stops, lunch, getting to the stadium from whatever parking you decide to use, etc. If it's your first time on campus you may want to walk around a bit and check out the sites, check out the book store, and you may need to stop for directions from time to time. Our family has often stayed the night Friday night in Angola, Indiana which is about an hour away from campus and typically has cheaper rates on game day than other places.

Last time I went to a game I used ParkWhiz app for the first time to reserve a spot. I found a side yard to park in for like $20 and it was within a few blocks of the stadium so an easy walk back. They even drove me and dropped me off before the game, so didn't have to walk there. There's other options of course, usually more expensive and often farther away. Just something to consider.

I appreciate all the replies. Thank you very much! Friday night isn't really an option, but I can leave at like 5am. My plan is to see the sites after the game. Idk anything about the book store. What is so special about it?
