Purdue was idle on Sept 24th which was probably good new for Boiler fans.

PU's record is 2-1 but the record of their 3 opponents is only 1-9.

Both of PU's wins came over winless teams Middle Tennessee and Div 1aa S.E. Missouri St.

The team PU lost to, Rice, has only 1 win. You got it, PU.

Does anyone else think that we need to put Dayne Crist back in against Purdue? Get him behind center again because he's a better QB than Reese. Or maybe even get Hendrix some reps. Reese, in my mind just isn't cutting it. He makes a GOOD ND football team look average.

Tommy Reese throws to one person. Yeah he utilized Eifert more against Pitt but other than that he goes to Floyd everytime. Nothing wrong with going to Floyd but it becomes so predictable. Also Reese can't throw the ball more than 10 yards. The deep threat is non existant. My feeling is that Reese is a good back up QB that's it.

Tommy Reese throws to one person. Yeah he utilized Eifert more against Pitt but other than that he goes to Floyd everytime. Nothing wrong with going to Floyd but it becomes so predictable. Also Reese can't throw the ball more than 10 yards. The deep threat is non existant. My feeling is that Reese is a good back up QB that's it.

I don't think Rees sucks. He's average to not good sometimes but he still 6-1 as a starter. Goodman sucks, and Motta sucks, and Gray sucks, and Shembo sucks and Fox is getting there.

Enough with the QB quandary. Rees has shown his mettle with the late drives against Michigan and Pitt. The kid has started 7 games. 7. He's still got plenty of learning to do. But he won't do that if we constantly switch the qb's around. We stick with Tommy, and he gets us wins. It's that simple.

No, I haven't seen a single post on this board calling for a change in QB. Seems like something we should open up for discussion.

Throws to one person? You mean one at a time? If you mean he stares down a receiver and doesn't go through his progressions, I would say that is accurate.

Pitt is far superior then Purdue.

Purdue is awful. Pitt had talent, something purdue lacks. Other than Ralph Bolden (runningback) and Ricardo Allen (corner) they are weak. The kicker can boot it from Indy but can't hit a 35 harder consistently. The qb is inexperienced and the offense is very predictable. They hate running to the wide side ofthe field, and throw the screen pass 6-7 times a game. Have no deep threat at wide out, tight ends aren't used very often. Defense gives up the middle of the field and underneath. Eif should have a field day. All things considered, if we limit the turnovers (1-2 on the night), we should win this easy. 38-13 Irish. Can't wait to rock my BK coaches pullover in the Purdue student section! Go Irish!

I agree.. It will be good to see Hendrix get some game action. But if he does well against a defeated Purdue can you imaging what the QB threads would be like? The Hendrix camp would be nutty!

This is what I expect as well, but Purdue always gets up for this game and they are coming off a bye week so they have extra time to prepare. Obviously they are going to try and do some of what Pitt did so it will be on BK and Tommy to correct what went wrong yesterday.

They didn't throw the ball much in their big blow out win and our run defense is pretty damn stout. I think they will have a very hard time moving the ball, so expect to see some jump balls to #4s side of the field.

It's pretty bad when we say limit the turnovers and automatically expect 1-2.
