I'm usually a big proponent of the "player safety" rules, but this is clearly not what these rules are intended to do. Kicking a player out of the game for what has always been a normal (and good) football play for the whole 100+ year history of the game is a complete mockery of the sport. It is embarrassing for the NCAA.
