I just assume that once a QB gets it contact tracing is likely to knock out the whole room or it's more likely to get passed along.

Wasn't Metz the tip of the Wisconsin iceberg?

I doubt Metz lives in isolation like TL does. Trevor lives alone and doesn't participate in normal position meetings. It's amazing that he got it, but I would be surprised that he passed it on to any other players.

hope he plays, a wins a win without them being full strength, but if we beat them full strength it may hold clout if they happen to win in a rematch and we have only one loss

I'd like to play Clemson with their full arsenal. That said, I suspect their backup QB is a five star gunslinger and will bring the heat anyways.

he is a former 5*, 6'4 240lbs...big armed qb who can run....he is currently injured(shoulder) but will the starter at BC....their other back up is also injured in his hand

The way I see it this will be a test with many watching the game. Lawrence doesn’t play defense so if our offense plays well it has nothing to do with Fabio. If he doesn’t get his normal practice REPs I don’t GAS and if we win we will take it and love it. We need some legit QB pressure, some
TO’s, some fair officiating and a stout run D. Without those we don’t have much chance of winning. Don’t see our offense carrying us. If we win all eyes will be pointed towards a rematch. We would have confidence but I don’t like Clemson when they want redemption. Even if we beat them we don’t jump Bama. We still have 2012 to live down.

No kidding? Does he have private sessions with the QB coach and OC?

This situation is already shit, regardless of the outcome.

1. He doesn't play, ND wins, the jury is still out and doubt is cast on ND the rest of the way.

2. He doesn't play, ND loses, ND is ridiculed and DJ U. is pumped as the messiah (or more accurately, the Cam Newton clone that he appears to be).

3. He plays on short rest, ND wins, the jury is still out on ND the rest of the way because he wasn't in game shape.

4. He plays on short rest, ND loses, he's touted as the GOAT with his 'MJ Sick Game' specifically at ND's expense until a potential rematch.

There are zero outcomes to this first matchup that won't have an asterisk of some sort, and that sucks for both teams... particularly if Lawrence doesn't play and ND still doesn't win.

We have to hope for a rematch of teams at full strength in the ACC 'chip.

You summarized nicely. No win situation. I actually prefer the game is postponed because of these scenarios. BTW, 4 is most likely of them.

I think the odds of this game getting suspended/canceled are pretty high.

EDIT: It just so happens that Wake has a bye on November 7th. I wonder if that game might get pushed up if Clemson is out.

Same thoughts. I believe the most likely scenario for all of this is more cases over the next few days, more contact tracing quarantines, and postponed game unfortunately.

Someone mentioned Clemson already had an outbreak over the summer. While that may make it less likely to spread as some would potentially have some form of immunity, the immune response to COVID does not appear long-lasting with initial data supporting waning immunity in just the matter of a couple months.

Per an ESPN article I read,
1. Lawrence lives on his own with no teammates as a roommate.
2. they have very limited contact during practices, especially for QBs which i assume is the norm across the country.
3. QB rooms are probably the least likely to have a spread IMO because I feel like that group in particular is limited in #s so you could easily social distance.

Dabo said yesterday they have no one in contract tracing from this positive test by TL.

I like our odds to play next week. Fingers crossed ND and Clemson take care of biz and make it happen, I agree I want to see this 2020 ND team against this squad to see how we stack up.

For his health i hope not... Looking at Cam and how he is different post covid. Lawerence playing with no practice against this defense... not sure it ends well for his health

I like the confidence!

Of course they don't, its Clemson. They also test positive for PEDs because of their hair gel.

If there is no contact tracing needed for the team and he lives alone, this suggests he was careless and was with someone outside “the bubble” without taking the proper precautions. Wonder how he got it.

Think of all those hours he spends in a classroom...

Just spoke with Clemson about the re-acclimatization period Trevor Lawrence will need to go through after his 10 days of isolation are complete. I think it was already unlikely he plays but I think this moves it to almost impossible.

I thought that since he is symptomatic, if the symptoms recede and he's also testing negative it could be less than 10 days of isolation.

It's ten days from first symptomatic day. He played Saturday. They got tested Monday. So earliest it could have been was Tuesday.

So Tuesday to Tuesday + even just 2 means the earliest he could be back is Friday? Yeah seems impossible that he could play.

Someone mentioned it earlier, he's going to be cleared Saturday morning, flown on a private jet to South Bend, arrive 2 hours before kickoff, run out of the visitors tunnel solo in a cloud of mist while hells bells or some **** blasts over the PA. Meanwhile every camera ESPN owns has been turned towards him to broadcast on every station "The Return of Trevor Lawrence" as they go on to beat us by 4 TDS. Coincidentally, the the exact score from the alternate universe ND vs Clemson 2020 in which TLaw doesn't contract COVID. But in our universe all of us ND fans have to live with it.

I'm waiting for this or the "He recovers from everything so quick" and just play.

Saturday’s forecast as of now is a high of 66 with a low of 48. So not gonna be a factor for this game if it holds true.

I don’t even believe he’s got it if everyone else on the team doesn’t need to go through anything.
This is all a set up for when we kick dat ass.... then.. they can say ‘well we didn’t have scooby’s friend’

Somehow I feel like if Lawrence has a mild cough they'll find a way to play him.
