So I'm looking at tix on StubHub, and I'm asking for some help from our local fans in Jax:

I'm looking at tix in the US Assure Club Level, but with the recent remodel I can't tell how high the row numbers(letters) go in Section 136. Anyone have current info? I know they removed a ton of seats, and now I am starting to wonder if some of the seats on StubHub even exist anymore...

Navy literally pulls a QB out of the stands to replace its injured starter - CBSSports.com

Backup quarterback Malcolm Perry was not dressed to start the game
by Ben Kercheval

Navy is quite literally pulling people out of the stands to replace its players after quarterback Tago Smith left the game against Fordham with a knee injury.
Per multiple reports, freshman backup quarterback Malcolm Perry, fully adorned in his dress whites to start the game, was pulled from the stands to dress out in a uniform at halftime. He will wear No. 5 in the second half.

Navy pulled someone out of the stands to play QB. (Yeah, he's on the roster.) - SBNation.com

Hang out in the stands at a college football game and maybe you’ll be asked to play QB! (Provided you’re on a college football team’s roster.)

By Rodger Sherman Sep 3, 2016, 2:33p

A key moment in college football lore is that about a century ago, Texas A&M had to grab a 12th man out of the stands to complete a game. You’d think in the modern era of college football we’d never have a moment like that, but Navy had to grab a freshman quarterback out of its stands in the season opener against Fordham.

Midshipmen starting quarterback Tago Smith got hurt on a big gainer in the first half, and was later seen on crutches.

With an entire half to go, coach Ken Niumatalolo needed to make sure his backups were ready to go. Only one problem: One of those backups was in the stands, enjoying his first football game as a Navy student.

Perry, didn’t dress for the team’s first game because he’s sick. He quickly got his gear on, and up 49-13, got in the game.

Perry, whose parents are both retired Army veterans, was listed as one of two third-string quarterbacks, but went into the game ahead of fellow third-stringer Zach Abey. Up multiple scores with the team's QB1 on crutches, the team presumably wanted to preserve backup Will Worth.

Most conferences place a limit to how many players a team can dress for road games, meaning they have to provide a pregame list of which players on their roster are eligible. However, those restrictions typically don’t apply for home games. That means Navy was allowed to play any player on its roster in the game, including Perry. But that also raises the question of why Navy didn’t choose to dress Perry if he was just one injury away from potentially playing.

So Navy now has a modern day version of the Aggies’ famous story. And their student base is a legit corps of 5,000 soon-to-be servicemen. So they’re basically Texas A&M but better? Bye, logging out before I get any emails.

Navy Got A Gift From Diaco

Navy Got A Gift From Diaco

NCAA College Football Recap - Connecticut Huskies at Navy Midshipmen - Sep 10, 2016 - CBSSports.com

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Navy had already blown a 21-point lead, and now the Midshipmen were in desperate need of a late stop to stave off another Connecticut comeback.

Aided by a questionable bit of clock management by the Huskies, Navy pulled out a 28-24 victory Saturday.

Will Worth scored two touchdowns in his debut as Navy's starting quarterback, the last on a 1-yard run with 3:08 remaining following a 26-yard punt return to the UConn 17.

That made it 28-24, but Connecticut wasn't done.

The Huskies moved 79 yards to the Navy 1 and took their final timeout with 17 seconds left, even though the game clock had stopped on an out-of-bounds play.

Ron Johnson was subsequently stuffed on a rush attempt, and time expired before Connecticut could run another play.

''That goal line stand symbolizes who we are,'' Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said. ''Things looked bleak. I didn't see the play. I was closing my eyes praying and I have no idea what happened. Shows you what kind of coach I am. I just looked up and our guys were cheering.''

After Johnson was thrust into his own backfield, the Midshipmen had no intention of letting him return to the line of scrimmage.

''We practice that,'' linebacker Daniel Gonzales said. ''You just lay on the guy until the ref pulls you off.''

Huskies coach Bob Diaco was at a loss to explain what transpired on the Connecticut sideline during the game's final seconds. He talked about the uncertainty of where the ball was placed, whether a pass was a better call than a run, and then the timeout call because the play clock was about to expire
.

In addition to 235 yds rushing, Navy added 130 yds through the air on 6-8 passes.

I'm Going To Jacksonville

I'm Going To Jacksonville

My sister just called, she's bought tickets for me, herself and her son for the ND v Navy. The tickets came from a co-worker of her's, a midshipman's mom. So we will be sitting in Navy Territory somewhere in the lower level.

The middie's mom wanted to sell her 4 tickets but my sister told her it would only be the three of us. She is selling us 3 at $85 each. IF anyone is interested in the 4th send me a PM soon. She will be putting it up on some service to sell if she doesn't hear in next few days.

Anyone have a suggestion on hotels? I don't know Jacksonville.

P.S. We got a hotel in Jacksonville Beach. Plan on using the Gameday Express to and from the game.

A week ago I was beaming. Got a free ticket to the Navy Game. Got a reduced rate reservation at a hotel on the beach in JAX ... Now wondering if it will be there in a day or two.

On a much smaller scale tonight than the millions displaced, scurrying to hunker down, stay dry, and wondering if they'll have a home in a day or two.

Good luck to you all. Stay safe!

I'm suddenly feeling much better about the cash I laid out for 50 yard line seats to this game. And about the 1,000+ mile drive.

You relocating or flying home? Otherwise it's a 2200 mile drive.

But who's counting? lol

Don't they understand there are millions of us who are allergic to shoveling snow and don't live back there no more!?

It's a 1,000+ mile drive to the game. I am making a few stops on the way back, to see some friends in Ga., S.C., and Va.

I think Kizer has a 400+ yard performance as we beat them deep a few times. I think our defense continues to improve and Tranquil has a huge 10+ tackle performance as he has a killer instinct vs option teams (GT last year). A lot of talk about JJ and Nyles yesterday and today and rightfully so, but Tranquil led the team in tackles and has stepped up his game IMO. He's gone next year right???

He's foregoing his senior year to enter the draft and play for the Lions?

The BC Lions.

Yeah Kizer and Co need to show up ready to roll and not take quarters off. Navy gave up 52 points and 400+ yards rushing to South Florida last week.

USF's built to run. I think they said they have three, 330lb lineman up the middle and their QB , Quentin Flowers is Lamar Jackson Jr. He may have gone over 2000 pass, 1000 rush on the season yesterday.

Hoping finally pulling out a close games gives them confidence that they can win.

If they play a compete game like they did in the first quarter vs Miami no other team on their schedule can beat them, including USC.

Tranquil in the past has done really well against this offense. We need the d-line to perform again.
