Wake Forest: Source tells FootballScoop Sam Houston State defensive coordinator Brad Sherrod plans to accept the linebackers position at Wake Forest. Sherrod is quite familiar with the recruiting area having played and coached at Duke and has also coached at both Western Carolina and as defensive coordinator at Elon.

Might be better off recruiting in the SHSU area....Houston, SE Texas, SW La

At last South Bend

At last South Bend

After 28 years of following ND from a far (England), I am coming to South Bend for the Wake Forrest game. Please, any advice on what not to miss during my trip would be appreciated. Particularly where to go after the game to watch more football, thank you

Welcome!

Here's a thread which has info for first timers.

http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/not...gameday-notre-dame-visitors-first-timers.html

When do you arrive locally, that will influence the availability of some activities?

What city are you staying in, that can also influence activities due to your travel time.

You may be able to get together with some members here. See who else is going.

Thank you

Thank you

I am staying in SB from the Thursday night until Sunday. I hope to do as many things as possible. I hope to take the stadium tour and attend the prep rally on the Friday.

Hopefully this isn't a trap game. One game at a time ND. No need to worry about the Canes.

I don't know if it's in that thread that BGIF linked, but I highly suggest walking on campus at night, at least once. Not the whole campus, but the Dome, the Grotto, and the Basilica. You could probably do it after the game.

The Dome and Grotto are absolutely beautiful, at night. If there's snow on the ground, it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Just did my first home game... Spent tons of time at oroukes... Cool atmosphere, great beer selection and good food plus extremely close to campus and easy parking all around

There is no trap game for ND this year.

Since the UGA loss Kelly has set the tone the THIS week's game is an ELIMINATION GAME.

Whenever the media asks a question about, "Are you looking forward to the xyz game?" He responds, "We're focus on this week's game, it's an elimination game." He and the coaching staff take the same tone with the players. Lose this week and we are out of the playoff picture.

Kelly mentioned it several times yesterday.

I love this focus! We need to be focused week in and week out and indeed, every game is an elimination game! Kelly and staff have been awesome this year setting this tone. Stay focused, do your job and worry about the task on hand. Great mindset and this team has delivered every single week.

Opening line from Vegas is ND -13.

13?? If we don't win by 4 touchdowns I'm going to consider this a letdown game.

Damn the more I think about it the more it irks me. 13?? We should have 400 yards on the ground. They're missing their star WR! 13 is a fvcking insult.

Some numbers going into Wake:

ND offense has rushed for 2539 yards or 6.89 YPC.

So, ND is averaging 3.09 YPC over their season average.

ND defense has allowed 933 yards rushing or 3.43 YPC.
Opponents in non-ND games have run against other teams for 4.42 YPC.
So, ND is Holding opponents to -0.99 YPC under their season average.

ND defense has allowed 1860 yards passing or 6.00 YPA.
Opponents in non-ND games have passed against other teams for 7.00 YPA.
So, ND is Holding opponents to -1.00 YPA under their season average.

ND offense has passed for 1204 yards or 5.71 YPA.
Opponents in non-ND games have allowed other teams to pass for 6.59 YPA.
So, ND is averaging -0.88 YPA under their season average.

BW is looking much more comfortable in the pocket and the receivers seem to be doing mostly better. Hopefully next week that starts resulting in better production.

Wake #11 in YPA passing offense.
Wake #57 in YPC rushing offense.
Wake #19 in YPA passing defense.
Wake #58 in YPC rushing defense.

Wake offense scoring 31.3 PPG.
Wake defense allowing 21.3 PPG.

Wake defense #1 in TFLs.

Dude Wake Forest is sneaky. They won a bowl game last year and I am a fan of Dave Clawson as a program builder.

Clemson won by 14, for what it's worth.

NC St. had the #6 rush defense in the country and had won 6 in a row before this last week too. I know WF is a pretty good team but we're at home and all 7 of our wins by 20 or more points.
