I'll rephrase, this is the 2nd time since 2020 championship they've been underdogs, and their biggest home underdog in a long long time.

point being, we should win, we are better, but it will not be easy. Many people pre season thought USC would be more difficult, i was adamant our toughest game on our schedule would be at Clemson (I did assume it would be a night game) even though I felt clemson was NOT worthy of a pre season top 10 ranking. Clemson out played FSU at home, FSU couldn't run the ball at all. Clemson missed a 30 yd fg in regulation to win it. I think ND is better than FSU and OSU, but ND isn't as consistent from game to game.

I'm still not sold on Freeman as the right coach due to his extreme inconsistencies coaching week to week, but winning this game would go a long ways i think to not only proving to me but more importantly the team/program that ND under freeman can go on the road and beat one of the big boys. Kinda like Kelly's win at Oklahoma in 2012. Oklahoma wasn't as good as they had been but still a really tough place to win at.

This is a huge game. I thought 11-1 pre season, but 10-2 has ND on the right track. 9-3 is an extreme disappointment of a season.

I hope this ends up like the NC State game and not the Duke game. Alas, all I have is hope in that regard.

In all 4 losses they had more 1st downs than the opponent. In all but Miami they had more yards than the opponent too (-17 in total yards to Miami). This is a very talented team that shoots itself in its own foot and could be 7-1 very easily.

The talent level and the overall record don't match, for Clemson.

But you can't be down 17 points in the 4th quarter to NC State, lose by 21 to Duke, and be "easily" 7-1.

With that being said, ND needs to bring their A game Saturday

If this is like the duke game, the coaches haven't learned and that's alarming. We should be a little bit healthier vs Clemson on offense than Duke even with Evans down. This should allow us to have an offense more so like the second half vs pitt.

Duke literally could play rico/tobias 1-1 with single high safety at times, leaving 8-9 to stop the run and evans if he went out for a pass. Tobias played 63 of 66 snaps, and Rico played 59 of 66 snaps. Let that sink in. Neither should have more than half the snaps in a game. Tyree is playing better, staes will replace evans solidly, faison is now being allowed to play, thomas and greathouse are somewhat back, maybe james plays some more? Tyree was targeted like 3 times out of 30 passes in the game, and had 2 catches. Rico and Tobias had a combined 10 targets for 2 catches by Rico, one on a fallen defender at the end/last drive.

I like Love a lot, and I think they want to see him get more touches because he looks close to breaking a long one with his speed. If you take away his fake punt carry he's averagin 5.8ypc compared to Estime's 6.2ypc. Both awesome, but estime clearly punishes teams, and wears them out as the game goes, and takes almost every short yardage carry hurting his numbers.

We'll never know, but I'd like to know how many total yards and YPC Darren Mcfadden (sorry, Love) would have given Estime's many attempts.

I'd have to think about it more, but I believe he's the most talented back I've ever seen at ND. Every play moves forward and violently.

146 x 5.8 = 847 (rounded up for him).... :) Hope he breaks one this weekend.

I think he'd break more if given more opportunities. He's always incredibly close, and I know Estime has broken his fair share, and eventually you are what your average says, but I think he's going to break a lot more with more opportunities. Just my opinion.

Hope so, and I think he will as well. I think Estime is wearing down teams early allowing for better runs for love/price. Early in the games teams have loaded the box so much to stop estime, he hardly has a shot for a lot of his early carries. When you watch the replay, maybe only Barry Sanders could turn much out of them.

With that said, I do think there's an opportunity for love to be in allowing us to not have the focal point of runs always be inside, estime isn't as good getting outside as love is. Make the teams not be able to crash inside as hard.

Lot quietly on the line. Win and we're 10-2 and in NY6. Lose and we're poptarts. Recruits don't look at programs like we do, they'll look at is as "MF took them from 8-4 to 10-2 and I want to be part of their 12 win season that's coming".

High F game.

Get them into 3rd and long and make the kid make a play. ND does that and they cruise. He'll make mistakes.

If they don't, it's gonna be a slog.
