I'm guessing this man is already checking under the bed each night for the boogieman, Xavier Watts.
Shit, after seeing my QB1, reigning Heisman trophy winner get dismantled last year in this game, I'd be worried about all of the defense.

Miller Moss is going to be a problem if the team stays healthy. Dude is throwing darts under fire.
Their defense still sucks. So we should be able to move the ball.

The great thing ND does on defense is make the opposing WRs reroute from the position the play is supposed to be run to. Thats what makes a QB miss targets. Don’t let the WRs get to the point they practiced at.

Our offense will need to improve a lot of the season from what we showed last night

I'm not calling USC unbeatable but here's what my eyes showed me as of the first game:

  • Their defense looked much better. They seemed stout-ish in their front and they were flying to the ball
  • Their offense has at least 3 gamebreakers.
  • Miller Moss made some of the best under-pressure throws I've seen. If you watch some of those highlights, they were unreal.

Our offense will need to be far more potent by EOY (which we all know is needed). Our defense will need to continue to grow so they are ready for that test.

13 weeks from now could be a lot of changes with injuries as well. USC definitely has improved as an overall team, but how do they stand up to a very physical schedule. They are lucky in that they don't travel too much to finish the season, and 3 of their 4 hardest games are first half of the season. Interested to see how they physically hold up by years end.

I was impressed with their physicality and defense last night. They’ll be very tough, we all knew that. But, they greatly improved in one season.

Agree totally.USC is not the crappy team they were last year. Their D can actually tackle and Moss is very good. No idea how they hold up over the next two months but that team last night will give us a game.

The USC reactions are a bit premature IMO. LSU replacing Daniels, Nabers, and Thomas (and Denbrock) was never going to be a good offense game 1. LSU’s defense was awful last year. The only clear takeaway for me is that Miller Moss is a good QB which I wasn’t sure about with a bowl game sample size.

I just looked at their schedule. It isn't the murder's row I thought it was going to be. They only leave the west coast three times and none of them will be played in cold weather. I wonder if this was part of their agreement with the Big 10? Will we ever see them at Wisconsin or Iowa in November?

I get that sentiment, but playing in Corvallis, Pullman, Boulder, or Salt Lake is still pretty brisk. Or in the desert at night.

He must've been reading this board after the game this weekend.
yeah can't believe all the bashing i read this weekend on social media or in chat rooms on podcasts from irish fans even though we beat a top 15 team that looks like they could go undefeated the rest of the way and make the playoffs
