Not sure if it was mentioned earlier, but given the outcome nd "could" have had the opportunity to go for 2 after that last touchdown had they just kicked the extra point earlier in the half. This gives them the chance to go up by 3 to go into overtime. It's not the reason ND lost the game, but a bad coaching decision.

That has already been talked about. Same shit happened at Clemson.

The offense is good between the the 20's. In the red zone it is awful. But our offense guru head coach can't fix it.

And it helps on that last drive you give them a free 15 yard face mask.

Defense....

I meant Stanford's offense isn't that good. Ours, despite the red zone struggles, played well enough to win. We made Stanford look like a juggernaught.

F*ck the stupid defensive calls that allowed them to complete that easy ass 26 yard pass. How many times does prevent rush 3 bs have to not work for d coaches to stop doing it. No way Hogan wasn't going to make a play with enough time. I'm disappointed that the offense had a great plan executed it very well aside from only getting 3 on the few red zone drives and the defense aside from Sheldon and Jaylon is absolute sh!t sacks.

It's not really relevant. It's either a 2 and a 1 or a 1 and a 2. I'd rather do the two earlier and have less pressure than the last seconds of a game.

No, you never chase points. Kelly chased points at Clemson and we had to go for 2 instead of kicking a measly extra point, to send it to OT.

Go ahead score with 30 seconds and we cannot stop them from getting into FG range. Out defense let us down several times this game, and the final drive was just the last one. Still, it was a great season. We will still get a nice Bowl bid, But these two losses sting.

Welp...inconsistent play from dbacks, typical oh shit play out of them as well...weak redzone execution...turnover deep in enemy territory...mistakes from guys who should not be making those mistakes...

The replay on kizer's td was suspect...but come on...if you can't stop em for 30s...you deserve to lose.

Good game, we lost to a good team. This was an exciting regular season. 10-2 with the injuries we had, unbelievable. This hurts, but man was it fun. One game left.

I really believe we'll get a New Years 6 bowl game! You got It on this was a superb performance on both sides of the ball all night! 1 Turnover Is the outcome, as It should be.

I think in the 3rd qtr I said we would need ball last down 2 or less to win.

Guess that applied for both teams

Yes, and I can't figure out why they didn't learn from the first mistake. Again, I don't believe in 1 play being the reason a team loses a game. Just don't want to see a questionable play call by the coaching staff. Make the smart choice and let the players win it or lose it on the field.

Great game, fun season. Many of the same issues popped up and cost us the game. Should still make a major bowl, need to win it.

Will Max Redfield ever make a play? A real play not where someone else makes a play and he catches the ball in mid air with no one around?

Makes me wonder who is behind him, that can't pass him when he does nothing on a weekly basis.

Decompression over. Life goes on. Definitely not a Top 4 team even if they won. Really hope this didn't cost them a New Years Bowl though.

Pass coverage has been a real problem all year. Is it scheme, Lyght, the players?

Our run D was really good tonight. At least with Oklahoma winning the loss doesnt sting as much as it could.

If you would have told me 10-2 at the beginning of the year, I probably would have taken it. Crazy how perspectives change. This will be a big time what if year in my memory.

Really amazing to think about being 10-2 with everyone that was lost for multiple games or season ending injuries. I think ND turned a huge corner this year with overall team depth, talent and speed. Think about the amount of PT these younger guys have going into the bowl game and 2016 season. Very bright future. Because it is Notre Dame, I think they make s New Years 6 bowl game. Too good for the bowl committee to pass up the Notre Dame fan draw and storybook type of season given the tumultuous nature of it.

Defense was a letdown. Oh well, we were very close to be the #1 ranked team in the country...4 points away to be exact. We'll get a nice bowl game and hopefully get to 11 wins. All in all not a bad year considering the injuries.

Also, F**K Shaw, that is one smugass prick. Also you know your program is a joke when beating a 1 loss team ranked outside the top 5 is "rush the field" worthy. I never have, and will continue not to, respect Stanford as a program. They are a good team but a horrible program.

The injuries catch up to us in these tight games. Lot of youth on the field, and young players can make mistakes more often than veterans. Can't fault anything Josh Adams did tonight though, he stepped up in a big way with CJ being out. Kizer did pretty well, all things considered. Our red zone offense really needs some work, it held us back again tonight. Maybe that's where Zaire would have worked out better if he remained healthy, I dunno. Kizer certainly made plays with his feet again regardless, and he did come up with a big run for a TD at the end there, just too much damn time on the clock. Defense did a great job bottling up McCaffery, but gave up too many big plays to Hogan in crucial downs...the facemask really hurt at the end there.

Very impressive that two freshmen, Kizer and Adams, combined for almost 300 yards on the ground. Couldn't believe that when I saw that stat. Outgained Stanford by over 100 yards, 533 total yards (Not counting the Special Teams, including Sanders kick return). The turnover could have been some valuable points, and failing to pick up one red zone TD until the end were areas that kept us from winning this one.

I have to go with the players being the problem. You cannot let guys run wide open, get suckered on every play action and bite on every trick play. At some point you, as a player, need to recognize that a dude is running down the field, my job is to cover that dude.
