I’ve been following ND closely since the early-2000s. Ian Book is BY FAR the worst prolonged starter I have every seen at ND. He make Tommy Rees look fantastic in comparison. He needs to sit... there’s nothing else to be done.

I was just saying that earlier, Tommy was a much better QB despite his many limitations, he had heart and stayed in the pocket and made his throws.

On the goalline, poised to score before half (20 some secs). Chip calls his third up the middle (genius) and Armstrong gets popped, helmet on ball, and Virginia Tech player recovers midair and runs it back for a TD. Book looks dejected on the sidelines. Flutie texts his mother in elation.

He was stuffed. ND needs a full house backfield on those short runs. They get stuffed to many times when they need 1 friggin yard. Back is 8 yards deep . The backfield. Defense has to much time to react. Sad.
