They are definitely gonna have to work on the O line rush blocking this week. Two weeks in a row they have absolutely stacked the box and it affected our run game. Hopefully we see a game more like USC than the last two weeks.

Don’t count on any team being dumb enough to use SC’s strategy. If any team is going to load the box & play man all game, it’ll be Pitt. Narduzzi has had a hard on for ND since he was DC at Sparty & ND has usually always gotten the best of his defense. He’ll have 2 weeks to prepare & ND’s OL is sus so he’s got no excuses this time around. And kudos to whoever recruited Heintschel. That kid is a stud.

Narduzzi will stack the box, play press coverage, and have his db's grab on every play daring the refs to throw a flag.
It's what he does every time he faces us.

Carr doesn't have to play great, he just needs to not have a bad game. Hopefully we see a lot of mesh concepts and man beaters over the middle.

Yeah, we're definitely going to see loaded boxes and plenty of DPI by Pitt. Narduzzi will roll the dice on the fact that the refs won't call it every single time. It feels like it's been a while since we've played Pitt, it's good to be reminded of how much I hate that smug prick.

I live 3 and a half hours from Pitt. Had been planning on going to this game for 2/3 years. Of course they schedule it on my wife’s birthday and she nixed it. Need a win otherwise it’s going to be one awkward birthday dinner

Exactly. That's how we gave Narduzzi's MSU defense their only loss of 2013 with Rees under Center, he just kept chucking it to our outside receivers and we racked up free yards. Denbrock was WR/Passing game coordinator at the time, hopefully he remembers.

CJ Bailey and Miller Moss, by far the two best passing offenses Pitt has faced, combined for 623 yards and 7 TDs/1 INT.

Good news here: Steelers are away this week, and the WPIAL championships will take place the week after we play Pitt. So the field should be not too torn up.

Honestly not sure I like this. Extra pressure for Pitt to make this their bowl game since they're not playoff bound. We need to crush Nards early and make a statement.
[EDIT] I could be wrong actually. Pitt is 1st in the ACC, I totally missed that. They also have a very good chance of improving their perception by playing us this week, GT, and then Miami. Hell of a gauntlet, but they could move up fast with 3 huge wins. Improbable of course, but possible with Miami reeling lately and GT just picked up their first loss against NC State.
